Xbox World has used the Microsoft leaks and industry sources to come up with a 3D mock-up of what it expects the next-gen Xbox to look like.

so its just a speculation of what its going to look like then, could have just took a photo of a bread bin and said same thing really.

Does look nice but can't see it being so good looking as it would bring the cost up and when your making millions of something you dont want to be spending an extra £10-£20 on just styling ?

I know it's only a mockup but I don't see Microsoft making the light rings anywhere near that small or insignificant looking. That's probably one of the first things someone would mention if you asked them what an Xbox looks like.

Personally, I don't really give a damn what it looks like, as long as it's black and fits on my AV rack :P

Besides, judging from the CVG info, the features "roadmap" are apparently the most accurate of the leaked info and the physical looks are guesswork/imagination.

Kinda surprised that they'll be using Bluray, but I guess it makes sense, seeing as I don't think we're really "100% ready" for digital distribution-only.

This country - and the whole world - won't be ready for quite a few years yet.
If everybody tried to download a game like COD on launch day they'd be a meltdown. Plus whilst ISP's stll give meagre limits every month it won't be possible. Download 2-3 games and you'd be at your limit.

Steam seems to do fine. Major launches are managed with pre loading.

There will still be disc versions and they can't really survive with DVD capacity again.

Is there any more details on the tying of games to single accounts?

I'd be more than happy to download all my games and I've only got a 7Mbit connection.

I play my fair share of games but even with that, my PS3 spends anywhere between 18-24 hours a day switched off so I could easily fit in a 10 hour download anytime really, especially as it has a basic download manager. I think Crysis 2 took less than 3 hours but I wasn't sitting there timing it. It's good to have some foresight as well for a console that will probably span 2013-2020 or thereabouts. Basing it around what's needed in 2012 is going to down the same route as giving the current gen such low RAM. Also, you have to consider that this is a gaming forum. The man on the street is a console's biggest customer and I imagine the average number of games he buys in a year is only about 4-6.

Only? 7MB is huge in comparison to what some of the UK gets.

Try living in the highlands, or pretty much any rural area of Scotland.

You will probably have a 4G home internet connection 5x faster than what I have now for around the same time we see any new consoles being released.

Im not going to "jump in" with the new Xbox looking at how badly made they were at first, then again im not going to rush out for the PS4 when it comes out. More than happy with my current consoles, my PC and my forthcoming Wii U for a while, this will prob all change come E3 next year though lol.

But then so will you, (if your location is correct) you will have 4G well before we get it up here!
