What differences have you noticed?

Just the default home screen and apps are different. There's a settings page called "Access Point" which is some sort of network switcher (if you have multiple SIMs I guess).

Default settings were different, battery saver off, US keyboard installed as well as UK.

Nothing much to write home about. But I'm hoping that being closer to the stock build means updates are more often? I'm not sure if EE's version will get a different update?

I would hope that WP8 is all the same?

Four days on from owning a 920, got to be said, It's a pretty incredible phone. I've been a symbian dev for years, but the speed of WP8 has pretty much amazed me.

I'm not a huge fan of the UI, but the work they put into it to make it run so smooth and quick just seriously impresses me.

Microsoft have obviously poured billions into this!!

EDIT .. I am drunk and poking buttons on the phone just to see what they do. :)

I have just had the dreaded cyberport email telling me stock won't arrive until 22/11
Almost enough to make me get an 820...
Almost! I nearly cracked on Fri and went looking to see if there was a Nexus 4 anywhere, but luckily there wasn't or I would have ordered one as my need for a new phone has reached urgent now...

what the hell is taking so long for this phone to become sim free? talk about potentially losing customers.

this and the N4 are the only two phones that are interesting me at the moment. but by the time i can buy either, a newer better phone will be out or on the horizon

There won't be any differences apart from preset settings and pre-installed apps. The firmware will be the same between them.

You would think so, but looking at all the different operator versions there's a few different build numbers around.

But also, the EE firmware doesn't have that "Access point" option, that's been hidden. I think that used to be a separate Nokia app.

It allows you to have multiple internet access point settings and flip between them. Not really much use on a locked phone though :)

I'm assuming the "EE" firmware has an EE boot screen? I got mine from P4U and apart from the first time running IE I get an EE home page, since then, nothing says EE on my phone apart from Operator, I'm still with "Orange".

I just wish there was some way to know when, if, Amazon.de will get their stock. I can almost manage if it's going to be before Christmas. But if it's going to be the New Year I'll just pick one up from EE for £399. I'm thinking of getting a Virgin SIM anyway.

Does anybody have a weather app that actually updates the tile live? Every one i've used only ever updates when I enter the app.... kinda pointless really!

On my Phones4U supplied 920 there was no EE screen shown on start up. But the default configuration is to point you to EE homepage etc.

Perhaps as part of the exclusivity deal Nokia stood firm and didn't want too much messing around with the 920 firmware?

Accu Weather or the Nokia version of The Weather Channel which I am currently using and it works well.

Well, I deleted the EE page from my favourites and now I start my page with a black - which I like :)

I use the Microsoft Weather App, works as it should, just don't close background application for it or it'll not update the tile.

I'm currently using a gubbed Mozart 7 which I need to use the camera to unlock the screen lol. That + a crack on the screen mean i want a new phone. I pay about £26-28 a month right now for 750mb data and 900mins.

I love the 920 but it seems expensive on EE and my contract ends on 9/12 with Orange. £46+ a month or so and £20 upfront.

I like the the Htc 8x in black on three. £34 per month + £30 up front on the one plan which means I can tether lots.

Would it be worth claiming my insurance on a totally ruined Mozart 7 paying a £50 excess? I'd hope it was too broken to repair and maybe get a newer windows phone which I could sell on.

Anyone thats got a N920 got a Surface as well, how well do the two sync together, have been Xoom/Desire HD for years now so used to how things luink between the two, apps only having to be bought once and so on..
