Hitman Absolution Pre-Order.

Enjoying this very much so far. Agree with the comments on the game being coded and optimised very well, I'm running it at max detail on the system in my sig and its running as smooth as a babies bum. And it also plays surprisingly well at albeit reduced detail on my Dell M1530 laptop which only has a lowly 8600GT vid card. Quite chuffed.

This game is awesome! Running it on Ultra settings at 1920x1200 and it looks great. Only get performance issues when I up MSA (?), so have kept that on 2x. The gameplay is great too. I've been playing some missions over and over until I get the kill just right, a bit obsessive lol. I feels satisfying to get a clean kill with minimal destruction. Although sometimes I've been caught out and had to use someone as a shield then take out a few people who saw it, when that plays out nicely it's satisfying too. The sounds are good too. Overall it's an awesome game!

Really getting fed up with the lack of disguise effectiveness. At a part of the "Run for your Life" mission where you have to make your way past a ton of cops and out into a rail station -- but the FIRST cop I encounter always clocks me! Using Instinct doesn't seem to do a damn thing either?

I've just been shooting my way through these missions, am I meant to be taking slow or will I miss out of bonuses because I kill too much?

Well, to play it within the spirit of the game, you're not supposed to kill anything but the target, and whilst creating as little attention as possible.

Well I am enjoying the game immensely but I have to be THE worst player ever to play. I really try to be sneaky then get impatient and then finding myself shooting my way out of trouble.

Have to agree with the sentiments that the game was made for a controller in mind. Just feel a little clunky and cumbersome at times using the mouse and keyboard. Never thought I would hear myself say that.

Sorry to say mate but that's your lack of stealth skills there ;)

Did that part myself last night first time on hard difficulty.

Instinct does work but you have to hold down the button & be quick because as soon as the status turns to "disguise suspicious" Instinct does nothing, also on that level you can hide in the crowds if you stand still.

The disguise system is functional, and works fairly well, but the people who become suspicious of you needs an overhaul. For example, I was disguised as a vendor and walked through a supermarket where other employees were suspicious of me, but the police were not. I then entered another area and the vendors were still suspicious of me. I would have preferred that they were not(as they had little reason to be) or at the least you have to do something really odd to alert them. I wouldn't mind if police were always suspicious of you, as you do have a quite distinctive look.

I'm infiltrating dexters industries at the minute, struggling to keep out of sight especially when I keep shooting pigs :/
The bit outside on as you come out of the tunnel and over the bridge was a bloodbath, I just had to use the sniper :D

I think the gunplay in general is very good in this game....it is a almost a shame not to use it more often. It is very similar to Dishonored in that regards, as I really want to be stealthy, but the combat is very satisfying!

It's all to do with people who have the same disguise as you become suspicious.

I do agree with that, the gunplay is very good....but you don't feel inclined to use it!

I think the score system is annoying as well, as it feels like a slap on the wrist if you kill someone other than the target.

In Blood Money i used to love using the slienced guns but without anyone noticing e.t.c. Then the papers would give you some cool story about being a deadly killer or some such.

..and the only reason they brought that stupid mechanic into play was so their rubbish linear on the run bits actually worked (otherwise you could waltz through them).

Surely then it would be like the old games? You suit up to whatever was the best uniform, guard or whatever, then you could walk the level and get out again.

Indeed, I was trying to say that it should have been tweaked to not be so broad....so either they will only become suspicious of you if you do something that merits it(think Assassin's Creed type play where if you bump in to someone, guards become suspicious of you, or if you knock a box out of someones hand), or localize it to a more specific kind of faction system so different NPCs react differently to you. Atm, all chefs will become suspicious of you if you are disguised as a chef, but it would be much better if only some of them did.

Well in the old games that is how it worked, you could dress up as a guard and stand next to him all day long. If you sprinted past him in the higher difficulty levels he would get suspicious.

I think although this new way has it's flaws, I think it's at least a little bit realistic. If you were a chef and suddenly a guy you've never seen before started walking around in your kitchen you might get a bit suspicious :p

Oh it is certainly functional, and I don't have any really problems with it, but it could certainly be improved.

Some of the hiding spots are ridiculous! ....I was disguised as a thug with a balaclava over my head, two other thugs walked up to me and started getting suspicious, so I 'hid', which meant picking up a magazine and pretending to read it(or at least holding it up to my face), and they walked right past:p ....we were supposed to be patrolling the area!

Exactly, Blood Money's way was a lot more realistic. They only got suspicious if you got too close to them for too long or did strange things.

In this one, you can bob about, run about and that causes no more suspicion than just walking normally? I.e. someone will be looking at you getting suspicious but you can just press to get into cover or crouch into sneak mode so you are out of sight and then you are fine

I face-palmed when you can disguise yourself as the drug dealer in the second mission even after the target has just spoken face to face with him :(.
