*** Nexus 10 Tablet ***

Thinking of buying a 10" tablet, would prefer android as we've already got android phones.

Is this the best one to get? And how would I go about transferring my .avis which are stored on dvd's to the tablet?

edit: This is £320, just saw the Galaxy tab 2 10" for £238 almost £100 difference!

Tempted for the tab 2 now.

deffo would say not to get the tab 2. It is more then half the tablet of the nexus 10. Much more worth the 100 extra, the tab 2 is the same specs as the galaxy tab.. an almost 2 year old device!

what I would say is that there are ways of getting the note 10.1 for 258 notes so much rather that if you arent willing to fork the extra for the nexus 10 as the note is a more than capable device. (Ordered nexus 10 yesterday after selling galaxy tab on auction!)

With any Android device, you just connect it via USB and Windows will automatically find and install the drivers. That way you can browse it with explorer and just paste the AVI files there as if it was a USB drive.

Decided to use Firefox as the browser, smoothscrolling feels the most comfortable compared to the other browsers. Speed doesn't really matter anyway seeing how powerful the Nexus is :p.

This just makes it so much more practical. Drag and drop and no having to faff about with iTunes.

It just is so much easier to transport data around especially if you are out and about. All you need is a micro usb cable.

Another great thing about it, you can also use something like ES File Manager to set up the Nexus as an FTP server, so you can even access the device via your network :p.

Brilliant, the Galaxy tab 2 looks dated and theres only £65 between the note 2 10.1 and the nexus 10 the 10 looks like a good bet, any chance of any offers during christmas. Don't need it straightaway.

I doubt it. These are flying off the Google shelves. If you want it, I suggest you keep on eye on Google Play for it.

Is Stickmount better in anyway than Nexus Importer ?.

Well, Stickmount is free ;). I think you can also use your favourite file explorer to explore the external drive, as well as any other apps such as music or videos (don't have an OTG cable so not tried this yet). Where as Nexus Importer you need to use that to search the files.

Just bought the Nexus 10 - 2-3 weeks shipping though. Bought on a complete whim whilst waiting for Windows tablets.
