*** Nexus 10 Tablet ***

Seen those ones too :) Bargain :D

BTW anyone using the Nexus media importer on their 10? and is it working. I see someone reviewed it and said it want working on their 10.

I ordered mine on Thursday got it on Friday. Guy in office ordered his couple of hours after me and his is still pending. He did go for 32 GB version though.

ideal, wife it ditching her ipad3 for a note 10.1 in the next week or so, need to point her at one of these if they are shiney enough.

Quoting back on this, met up with my friend who has the Note 10.1 today and did a couple of comparisons between the two. No benchmarks or anything, just real life usage.

The Nexus 10's screen obviously feels a lot more sharper and much better quality compared to the Note 10.1 due to the resolution, but we were mainly using it to look at notes, and not really much benefit from that.

The Nexus 10 also feels smoother compared to the Note 10.1, there are some moments where the 10.1 does lag like previewing the homescreens, although that could be because he has icons everywhere (he doesn't like using folders :p). Another reason could be is that he's still on ICS, he hasn't recieved the JB update yet.

Weight wise the Nexus 10 does feel heavier, but the difference is pretty hard to tell. Size wise, the Note 10.1 is wider but shorter, although quite slightly, I suppose if you had a loosish case it could fit both of them.

Multimedia wise the Nexus 10 wins hands down, 1080p movies looks better on the screen compared to the Note 10.1. Sound wise both are pretty similiar.

However, in terms of productivity, I think the Note 10.1 wins this. The S Pen as well as the apps designed for it is unbeatable, taking down notes if quick and simple, there's also an app which can convert written maths equations into text and send it to Wolfram Alpha to solve (handy for us maths students :p). Adobe Photoshop Touch should also be quite handy for art students as well. You can also set the Note 10.1 to only detect the pen and not your hand, so you can pretty much write on it like you would on paper. Not to mention the multi window feature as well, loading PDFs on one side and then taking down notes on the other. There's apparently an update coming soon as well to bring more apps to take use of this.

TL;DR:

Media and general usage, Nexus 10.
Productivity, Note 10.1.

Hope that helps everyone.

Anyway, I'm amazed! This thing lasted 5 hours of constant note viewing and only went down to ~75% battery! Such a big difference compared to my phone :p.

JB will make the Note 10.1 a lot smoother. :)

Grumble grumble, replacement has light bleed grumble.

I'm going to be without a tablet if I can't get a good one as I've sold my old one!

Had a play with the note 10.1, nexus 7 and tab 2 10.1.

The nexus 7 UI was beautiful and it was silky smooth but for me the screen was too small.

Tab 2 is good for the price but lag whilst it doesn't kill the tablet would be annoying if you had multiple programs open.

Note 10.1 was quite nice a lot faster than the tab 2 and the pen was quite usable. There was a slight lag when scrolling home screens but I think the setup by tesco didn't help. I would be happy with this I just want to play with a nexus 10 before I get something.

The one I've order has turned up today, and there is a little backlight leakage - I'm not sure if it's bad enough to reject though. Are there any guidelines for this?

Could you live with it, is the only guideline you need.
