*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

I'm tempted to order the £329.99 deal at gamestop. I hate having the new shiny toy syndrome!

EDIT: Or maybe even shopto seeing as it's £5 cheaper!

Managed to Pre-Order mine today from Game, "a bit late I know" I traded in my 3DS and games and got £300 off, they offer 50% extra on trade in consoles and 33% on games.

nice.

Looking promising??

interesting, was toying with the idea of trading in my vita, any idea how much they're offering for a vita?

Just bought the zombie u bundle from shopto and a copy of mario as well. Strangely, it was £10 cheaper than buying them as a bundle. Hope its decent :)

Spoke to a guy from sainsburys on the phone earlier and asked why if you dont get billed till dispatch they took the money on friday and havent dispatched it yet? Found out that they are using DPD on friday, units will be shipping to DPD on weds and will go out friday, they are not allowed to ship them earlier even if they already had the stock in.

Hmm, my Amazon Wii U Basic with Mario is £290, tempted to cancel for the Shopto premium with ZombiU instead.

Any idea if Shopto will deliver on Friday if I ordered now since it's 2 days away? (near enough)

Their twitter says they are dispatching them tomorrow and thursday so a good chance of getting it on thursday/friday I would think.

Hope so!

Decided to go ahead with it and cancel my Wii U Basic + Mario from Amazon and got the ZombiU bundle, £35 more but what you get over the basic is worth more than £35 and I guess I also get £8.20 back in points too which I can add to a game later on... just hope it arrives on Friday :p

A lot of love here for the browser - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2sPBNG2VCU

Although sadly no flash support!

HTML5 is the future however, a lot of sites are being redesigned to use just that over flash! Engadget went through a recent redesign as did IGN with both supporting HTML5.

Glad to hear the browser is solid and supports HTML5, which is actually something I didn't really consider or expect.

that's made my investment in a wii u worth it for that alone.
lights off motion tracker in one hand wiimote in the other spare pair of undercrackers on standby

Colonial marines is being billed as the wii u's L4D.

as much as I love my Xbox and ps3 and will no doubt have a new xbox and a ps4 the wii u looks like it will do exactly what the original wii did and bring something new and funky to the market.

only thing its missing so far is some sort of app installing ability (plex app for the wii u pls) give me a new Mario kart and Zelda and I will be a happy camper

Also Gearbox have been stating for a while that Colonial Marines on the Wii U is the best looking version of the console gamed and of course the motion sensor stuff is awesome.

I think this is one of the games from a third party that will certainly show off the console as they've had one of the longest periods developing for it.

For all the critiques that are coming along over the graphics you need to remember how long the 360 and PS3 have had to mature, most of the 360 titles looked woeful at launch but because they were in HD it made a big difference.

In the coming years the Wii U will no doubt ramp up the quality as developers get to grips with the systems architecture with Nintendo no doubt showing off one of their first party titles at e3 big style.

3rd parties such as EA have been consulted during the implementation of the Wii U online service so they again are trying to win over the 3rd party developers also.

I'm really ramped up for the console launch now and I must say after checking out Nintendoland yesterday at he Game where my mate works I must say it looks gorgeous!

Looking forward to Thursday/Friday :p *whenever I receive it*

What launch games is everyone getting? Its a shame there is not more first party software out with launch but I understand it. Im a bit annoyed that my ubisoft assassins creed order got cancelled, I aint paying £48 for the regular version.

ZombiU and Mario for me, ill pick up Nintendoland second hand in the future.
