Far Cry 3 Thread

So I can download the game now with Farcry3 download manager? I bought from Green Man Gaming but they using some capsule app thing? Please tell me I dont have to load game up with this Capsule crap all time lol

I had the same issue. Just install Uplay, log in with your account, go to the Store page through the client, find Far Cry 3, add it to basket, enter the code and it will discount it to £0.

The capsule is just to download the game with. Use the download manager that's been posted and you can install the game now and then active the code when the game is released tomorrow. Then you won't need to use capsule; you will just use Uplay to launch the game.

Anyone who used GMG tried to activate the game after downloading it through the Dow loader linked above using the keys emailed out?
 
I've downloaded Rickys file, downloaded the files through that. Installed it, it doesnt dump any .exe on the desktop (lol Ubisoft, well done)
So then Navigate to the Farcry 3 installation folder, run it from in there and it loads Uplay up and asks for the cd key.
I pasted my GMG cd key in there and its now updating with the day one patch.

Long story short, yes, you can bypass GMG's capsule lock and download directly from the Ubisoft servers and use your GMG key.

Again, massive thanks to Ricky for that :)

Was so tempted to get this but sadly it's only available on steam in the U.S :/

Will pass till sale or ubi sort their spat with valve.

If you download with the file Ricky linked to, you can by pass the GMG Capsule and install it from there, then use the GMG key and be playing in how ever long it takes to download as opposed to starting it all from the beginning tomorrow at midnight.
 
honestly guys your gonna love this when you get in the intro alone is worth it.

by any account i have a 4.8ghz i5 2500k 580 gtx at stock at getting with the new drivers at ultra 60+ fps :) on ultra

Absolutely fantastic intro, well impressed! Can't say I'm getting the same performance as you mind you - struggling to maintain 50fps at the moment! May have to look at disabling SLI to see if that improves things.

Edit: Added the DX11 .exe to the SLI profile and I'm now seeing a steady 70+FPS with 4xMSAA on Ultra.

It looks good and is a defo buy for me. However I wont buy it at full price!

I have as ton of games from the summer and last weeks steam sales to last me for a while.

Hoping to pick it up during the xmas sales for cheaper...
 
Well picked up the deluxe version for £25 about 20 mins ago, and now 5 mins from having the download complete.

I can never get Steam or capsule to max out my connection, this is banging along at 8.5MB/s, awesome, hadn't been expecting to play this tonight at all. Just finished AC3 this morning, great timing.

Anyone still looking to buy, someone posted a £10 off code in GD for Ubisoft, they are currently doing the deluxe version for £35, so £25 with voucher, cheapest could spot it anywhere was £22.50 for the vanilla version of the game.

Should bought it a while ago at £20 but missed out :(
 
SLI users, the profile included in the new beta drivers (310.64) currently doesn't work with DX11 unless you add farcry3_d3d11.exe to the profile.
