his 7950 iceq crossfire on Matx?

1: depends if your board supports crossfire

2: its not the board you should be worried about, its the case they are going in and the airflow thats available to cool them within the case.

Being an matx board they would be right next to each other.

I just can't tell if this card is higher than 2 slots.

Width and length don't concern me as the case can take a 7970 lightning.

Airflow isn't too bad for a small case

Yeah, kinda looked like that would be the case. Just needed some confirmation. Thanks.

Just don't know whether to go for single 7970 again or crossfire 7950...

Actually, just got too many choices right now.

I still have the two Gigabyte GTX 670's here... and wondering if I shouldn't see if I can get both running decently in SLI, or maybe stick with one.

The windforce coolers are not great for SLI though, even with more spacing, which I think is due to the orientation of the fins running across the card rather than lengthways.

Despite the annoyances I have with the nvidia cards, it's less stuff to buy/sell.

Otherwise I could try two of these, but again, I am unsure what temps/noise would be like in crossfire.

Or one of these. I am 99% certain it will fit my case, even though a tight fit.

I would have considered the Matrix platinum 7970 at £380 as it will definitely fit, but I am weary about the fact that it only has DVI and Displayport, and I need hdmi for audio. Sure an adapter might work but.....

Or I suppose I could just get a single one of these and ditch it when next gen is out.

Hell, maybe even two of these...

Are you single 1080 screen or multi-screen or high resolution?

If it's single screen you might be better off just sticking with the 670's as they'll perform identically to anything else (i.e. bloody smooth! :p)

If it's multi screen/high res I would persist with the AMD option due to how much quicker they are in this scenario.

I have two screens - Hazro HZ27WD (2560x1440) and LG DM2780D (for 3D).

I game on one or the other.

Looking at that review here, a 7970 ghz does a fair bit better than a 670 at 2560x1440...

Turns out I just couldn't stomach the idea of buying more graphics cards...

I will spend the weekend seeing if I can get the GTX 670's running nicely in SLI, and see if I can't find a solution to the annoying tridef issues I had and other stuff.
