Far Cry 3 Thread

the transitions between different lighting/times of day are terrible, it happens pretty much instantly almost like an on/off switch
 
So what FOV did people set this at ? I only googled what FOV did a few hours ago so I can't really detect much of a difference between highest and lowest :s

Should I just stick with 90? (1920x1080 res, 23" monitor)

needs an option to hide glowing bodies/weapons/waypoints etc as well, makes you feel like robocop or some nonsense.

far too much screen clutter, i just want a nice minimal hud not pop up boxes galore which you can't even get rid of.

At first I thought it was worse that C1 but I would need to reinstall it it to be sure... but the more I play the better I think it is. The lush looking grass it great, and most of the textures are very good, though there is the odd duffer. There is more going on, in terms of wildlife, most of which has it in for you :D

Crysis was a PC only title, and I'm sure if this was too then it would/could be a lot better, but, as a multi-platform title this is a great looking game, and I don't have many worries with it.

not on extreme settings though :P

benchmarks show 30 with that card and I get 35fps with the super clocked version at 1920x1080

dropping shadows and geology or whatever it was to high bumps be to 45fps and the game looks no different.

yeah on ultra 1920x1080 50-60fps,cards at 1050mhz core and 1375mhz memory,voltage is stock

to fix the save/loading issue make sure you allow permissions for all the user accounts in windows and run as admin,fixed mine
 
my downloads speed is ridiculous max speed is 300kb out of a 2.1mb connection, damn peak times when every other **** is downloading the game causing the server for ubisoft not to cope. :( even tried the download manager on the thread same speed :(
 
God I love the bow so much! Can't see myself using a gun in this game at all! :p

Feel like Rambo/green arrow using it :D

Must say really am enjoying this game now after doing some main story missions.

Yeah I tried the Ubi downloader and its very slow. I am about 80% downloading from Green Man Gaming at a slow 520KB/s.

I am interested to see how my old dual core handles things.
 
Had an hour or so and so far its very good.

On ultra settings @1080p (DX11) with 8xMSAA i get around 30FPS if i just drop the AA to 4x it shoots up to around 45-50FPS. That's with max FOV as well.

Max GPU temp 40c :D
