Far Cry 3 Thread

Am getting 60FPS most times now and then it drops about 55fps. This with almost everything highest go apart from AA witch is 2x.

On this game I know AA is a killer but what other settings is also worth changing to get better performance but dont take away much IQ?

Drop down the post processing to medium, it's a massive resource hog and lends very little to the game.
 
Is there any way to turn some of the hints off? ...I don't mind a few, in fact you need them in some places early in the game obviously, but they are starting to get in the way a bit tbh.

totally in the game world, very restricted in missions. Once you accept a mission, there isn't much scope for doing anything else so far as I can tell(haven't done many). In the first mission for example, I strayed outside some imaginary boundary and got 'mission failed' and had to start again. Also one mission required stealth, and once I was spotted it was mission failed also:(

I agree with what someone said about it being a bit weak how you are constantly running in to bad guys, you kill them and then another two show up a few seconds later....rinse/repeat.

I am finding the menu a bit cumbersome also

Agreed - especially re. the menu.

But it is a game you can lose yourself in...
 
Yay got my key from GMG and i had that paypal error seems no funds taken.

So now to uninstall the vanilla game.

Question to who bought the Deluxe edition, In Uplay does it list you have Deluxe edition? Mine just say Far Cry 3 and I see nothing about my bonus items?

How do you alter post-processing?

I've gone through the option menus for video etc. but can't see an option to reduce it :confused:

EDIT: is it referred to as 'Post FX'?

I got it fine from GMG cost me £22.50 because of the discount code and i had £2 credit.
I don't like the capsule down load took about an hour and a half to down not to bad i suppose.
Word of warning people with not much room especialy on your SSD you need about 27 gig free.
First you down load the 8.8 gig then it installs it ready to install finaly for the main install!
I have played about an hour good so far seems to be a few grphical glitches i have noticed, i have a 7970.
Just on optimum settings but i will play with the settings at a later time.

Enjoying it so far. Like someone has said I think it does look a little bit like Dead Island. As far as open world games go I think I prefer Just Cause 2 as it seems to have more replayability to it whereas Far Cry 3 seems more story driven, which leads me to think I may end up putting it down once I have completed the story. Hunting bits for a better ammo bag to begin with; can't hold much ammo at all when you first start off.
 
Hey, I was wondering if anyone who re-deemed the code they had from the AMD never settle promotion have had an e-mail with there code, as I aint had nothing and I cant download it from Uplay :-(
