Far Cry 3 Thread

Decided not to wait, replaced a few files to unlock it (naughty I know :rolleyes:), the opening part and first mission/s is pretty damn good, runs really well on my laptop too. Got a feeling I'm going to get a lot of wear out of FC3 :)
 
i think its a really good game..was raiding a out post earlier sneaking around knifing guys in the neck..heard some commotion,thought id been spotted,then saw this tiger attacking them and killed the guys for me,tripped out on mushrooms as well...not had any probs running the game..looks great
 
Video settings disabling Alpha to coverage give my game a massive performance boost almost always 60fps now. But what is Alpha to coverage? I notice zero difference On or Off lol
 
I'm very tempted to get this game, but I've got a bit of a backlog already, however I've just read the pc gamer review and this is what they've said:

" it’s a nice PC version: responsive mouse movement, specific graphics and FoV options, tutorials reflect your custom controls, and it runs decently on Ultra-everything on a modest 3GHz dual core machine with a Radeon HD 5800. The engine doesn’t quite suit the jungle as beautifully as it did the African desert in Far Cry 2, but it has some beautiful views."

Ultra everything that can't be right surely?
 
Ive got a monster back log as well but tbh it aint getting smaller coz i cant be assed with any of the games they are not pulling me in but this game looks like it can so im gona get it

I love just cause 2 i play it for hourse just to explore the isladn and drive/fly about but tbh the coe gameplay and shootign is crap. if this is liek just cause 2 but with far cry action/shotting ill be hooked.

Or even like Skyrim kinda but with modern action not fanstay and swrods...right up my street.
 
6am would appear to be the AMD code/Uplay deadline. My email arrived bang on 6 and so far the download's running flat out (2.1MBs for me). I hope most people stay in bed till 7:15 ;-)

It's basically AA for the plant life. Have a look at some tree leaves and toggle it and you should notice a difference.
 
This whole download is confusing me, I downloaded it all, then it asked where I wanted to install it, so I chose a folder called Far Cry 3 in Program Files(x86) and it went in. Then I checked that and it was just a bunch of setup archives, thought to myself okay, so I ran them, asked me again and I chose a folder called Far Cry III in the same directory and it unzipped there, and now I just have the bloody .iso in folder form. Why not just download that to me straight away? I had to unzip the bloody game twice to get all of this. :p

Anyway, time to run the real setup now! Damn Ubisoft and their contrived thingymabobs.
 
Get some really weird bugs if the Far Cry servers aren't available (menus missing icons, textures disappearing, etc). If that happens then set UPlay to always start in Offline mode (click the cog icon) then close it, reopen it and try playing again.
