Far Cry 3 Thread

Seriously not impressed now, single player keeps crashing at the intro now. I'd have been better off just keeping playing with the crack as at least single player worked then.

Try running UPlay in offline mode, seems to have helped a few people
 
I also have the service unavailable message...

It runs ok on my 7950 so far although I have only had a quick go.

I received my Key but U play seems to have unlocked it automatically as I have not been asked for the key to run the game.
 
Anytime i go to acces the menu after playing for a while it tries to connect to a server then going back to the game static screen of jumbled gfx i have to quit and restart.
 
same here going to stop playing now until fixed. Second issue this is, 1st is yesterday when multiplayer would bug out and not start if eu players hosted the game as it was not released there yet. Spoiled the game for everyone else.
 
Not sure if this is the right place to ask about this but worth a go. I recentley put an order in last week and with it came a free copy of this game. I have not recieved my code yet. Do I need to email ocuk for it?

Are you sure that your only running on 1 core? if I touch the MSAA at all my fps tanks to around 35-40 with further drops at random usually when driving a car and this is only with 2xMSAA.

Perhaps the performance for 7800 series just suck atm. Ive tried 12.10 and 12.11 beta 8 with caps
 
The Far Cry 3 service not available thing has just inspired me to rage-quit out of the game after getting stuck. That's not good for a man of my age. :-)

Still, the sun's shining. Time to spend the rest of my free morning doing something more useful than waiting for Ubi to bother to let me play their game properly.

One bit of advice, I'd suggest installing to an SSD if possible, The load times are horrible from HD.

Until then I was actually building up a bit of enthusiasm. The intro does a fairly good (if long and somewhat flawed) job of sucking you in to the game, though it feels very consoley in its hand-holding so far. And how come they allow that village full of pretty people to survive unmolested so near (I'm guessing) to their base? Maybe the magic tattoo keeps them away? </headshake>

Then I checked that and it was just a bunch of setup archives, thought to myself okay, so I ran them, asked me again and I chose a folder called Far Cry III in the same directory and it unzipped there, and now I just have the bloody .iso in folder form. Why not just download that to me straight away? I had to unzip the bloody game twice to get all of this. :p

Yeah this is what I was saying about the experience I had with downloading it from GMG, you need about 3 x the space of the actual game initially.
So I had to delete a load of steam games to fit it on my SSD.
Once finally installed though you get around 15gb back.

Put uPlay in OFFLINE mode before trying to play the game..Else it goes wrong whenever you try to access the menu from ingame. You can always put it back to ONLINE mode whenever ubi fixes the problem
 
Awful first impressions

1) SLI 2nd GPU not loading hence crappy framerates
2) Constant crashing on Campaign
3) UPlay servers are not available for MP
4) There doesn't seem to be a resume when I am in the game menu and I keep exiting to desktop due to it.
5) Weird screen flashing/flickering.

I'm actually really liking this game!

I had no expectations at all after Far Cry 2.

But this seems to be pretty amazing so far.

Graphics are gorgeous, guns are satisfying.

I like the sticky cover and talent trees. Can't wait to get home and play more!
