I am buying a new cooler for my dads computer because he is always complaining his cpu is too hot, and also the cooler he has is too noisy :p. I am just wondering which cooler will be better

this one which looks complicated to mount.

I don't know what is the difference between them tbh but if anyone could tell me which one will be best for noise and temps? thanks:).

it's not for low profile, it's for temps and noise level.

I am wanting to buy him one of those coolers I have listed. Really I only wanted to know if there was any difference between them for temps and noise.

He overclocks his CPU and it stops at 3.5 GHz because it is too hot, while I have the same CPU overclocked too 4.00GHz :D.

The difference is the first one (TC14CS) is a downflow single ended5 heat pipe single core cooler and the latter one (TC14PE) is double ended 5 pipe double tower cores front to back flow (or bottom to top.

That's the simple explanation.

They are among the best 10 or so but not the best.

A few other top towers in same league right off the top of my head are:

Alpenfohn K2
Noctua NH-D14
Thermalright Silver Arrow SB-E
Thermalright Silver Arrow SB-E Extreme
Silverstone HE01 (newly released not sure exactly how good and quiet it is)

Then there are some almost as good

Zalman CNPS12X
Zalman CNPS14X
BeQuiet! Dark Rock Pro
Alpen Matterhorn
Alpen Himalaya
Thermalright Venemous
Thermalright HR-02
Thermalrigth True Spirit 140
Xigmatek Venus

And the list goes on

Zalman CNPS9900-MAX is just as good or better then some on that list. I have this cooler now and it's one of the best out there.

Phanteks PH-TC14PE

If you have the space, is very good. The rig in my sig uses one and at most times is barely audible. Has PWM fans and two 140mm fans at 600rpm idle is very quiet going up to a not overloud 1200rpm at max clocks. Easy to mount and the fan fitment is easy also.
