Might have to send these 2 cards back as i cant for the bloody life of me get the voltage to unlock.

I can get the slider to unlock and extend the overdrive limits, default is in msi afterburner : 975 ? is that not correct ? as msi shows default under hardware monitoring as : 0.949v

anyway what ever i select in the voltage slider and apply : does nothing still shows 3d clocks as : 1.056v

This is a none ref card does anyone else have this card is it locked ????
i think i have tryed everything lol wont budge....

also idle voltages seem to be fluctuating between the 2 cards at idle : 1 card is : 0.949v and never changes but the other one changes between 0.806v and 0.949v ??? shouldnt it be constantly the same as the other card ?

also i have noticed that a fan on one of my cards completely shuts off lol

seems these cards are more or issues compaired to the 69xxx series i had before.

i hope i have not picked the wrong cards.

Fixed it, you have to enable constant voltage to be able to change it.
but it breaks powerplay arghh lol

might look into overclocked bios`s :D

is there a bios editor out yet for the 79 series :/

Also one card will shut off on idle.

Why do you need bios editing? Choose a clock, find the voltage required, stability test and go.

Cause i would rather flash a 7970 bios on it with its pre ghz clocks and leave it at that then i wont require overclocking at all :D

Overclocking is fun!
That card should overclock like a beast, 49c full load is what most people get.
Rise the clock to 1100/1400 and change the voltage to 1.1v than run heavy heaven benchmark or 3d mark vantage ;)
I wouldn't risk flashing bios when you can overclock your card without bigger hassle.

Can't flash a 7970 BIOS onto a 7950 AFAIK. They have different shader counts so it probably won't work. Also you don't want to brick your card.

Having software like MSI AB in the background is completely unobtrusive and you can set it to open upon start-up, apply your clocks and then minimise. You won't even know it's there plus you get all the monitoring bits and bobs as well :).

Thanks for the info`s guys :D
got a few more Q`s for the uber elite :D

Im having issues with FARCRY 3 and HITMAN

if i add any type of AA to farcry, then farcry becomes a stuttering inferno, i checked hdd light and its hardly blinking so not a hdd issue or ram issue with AA off its smooth though ;D

why such a huge hit in frames aswell when any aa is enabled on farcry 3, i read somewhere that farcry 3 is unoptimised with aa enabled and there is ment to be a farcry driver being released tommorow ? could be wrong.

and as for hitman its the same issues as above.... very strange these cards crossfired should be ploughing through these 2 games.
