One thing nvidia cards don't do is spike fps.
Nvidia will happy sit in the middle say 50 fps while the amd will go 30-60 spikes. So it moves all over really fast while Nvidia will stay at a steady frame rate.
I've went amd this time i just hope the spiking isn't as bad and its more smooth.

On BF3 multiplayer the 670 is all the shop...
They used high setting and not max where it seems from there results and gregs results in the benchmark thread things even up.
They used lower settings on the 7970 for some reason though.
They turned the compute based AA off for the 7970. Seems odd considering the 680 can run fine with compute on but the 7970 can't.
Having played sleeping dogs at 1440p with those same settings, the fps rarely drops below 60 and it is super smooth.
"The GTX 680 was able to perform at 2560x1600 using the High Anti-Aliasing setting. While the HD 7970 appears to have the headroom in the frame rate to support that setting, the game play experience was not as fluid as we expected it to be."
I'm only speaking for the 7970 results, but that is bull. I'm not questioning the Nvidia results.
I did find it odd that they could only use the normal aa setting with the 7970 as from your max iq run the fps looked more than playable. Whatever the case benchmarks done on this forum don't add up to there results. They do state they use a part in the game that stresses the gpu the most and not the in game benchmark. Maybe the nvidia gpu does good at this point.
@Ltmatt i was under the impression that only max aa is compute based so the high setting aa is not compute based. It still looks suspect that the 7970 can only generate enough fps on normal aa mode but as i said above it could just be the part of the game they are using thats weak on amd.
I get lower fps running the benchmark than the part they talk about. Why they wouldn't use the benchmark when it is consistent and covers many of the levels in the game is beyond me.
