Just had a bath.

I like baths, but get bored as I can't seem to relax for more than about five minutes before I want to get out and crack on.

If I have a bath, I take a book and a drink. The reason I almost always shower instead isn't boredom. It's the fact that I am much bigger than my bath. If I had a bath at least 6' long and at least 3' wide (i.e. big enough to lie in with my elbows out, holding a book), I'd use it more often.

I nearly gave myself hypothermia with the Riftwar books :) I inched slowly into a very hot bath and the next time I paid any attention to anything other than a book was when I moved and realised I was shivering uncontrollably in a bathful of cold water. Not fun.

To answer the OP's question, what you get with more expensive bubble bath is usually mostly the "privilege" of paying for their advertising and the French and Latin in the ingredients list. The really cheap stuff may be both more diluted (and therefore not really all that cheap) and harsher on your skin (the cheapest ingredients are often harsher) and, oddly, contain a lot of salt. But midrange to high end stuff is mostly a matter of the same basic ingredients with different advertising. It's mostly water, sodium laureth sulphate and trace ingredients for different smells.

EDIT: I missed something - there are organic eco-friendly blah de blah products with substantially different ingredients, but there's no good evidence they're any better for you and they're ludicrously expensive.

Bubble bath is deadly. I find it makes the bath so slippy that when you step in you can really hurt yourself. I am also a clumsy ****.

Strange but true - the number of people killed by slipping in a bath is far higher than the number of people murdered. It's a not insignificant risk.

Bubble bath is one of those products where everything is basically the same with a different sticker on the bottle.

If you're really feeling stingy you could question why a bath should have bubbles in it at all.

and i always think im just sitting is a soup of my own filth...
People say this all the time... It's a pretty... Daft thing to think, unless you absolutely covered in turds then the ppm of any kind of dirt or contaminant is very low.

More of a shower man, with some occasional bath time.

Issue I have with a bath is that I'm too tall for it so have to choose between having cold knees or a cold upper body.

If I had the cash I could be tempted by a jacuzzi...
