Just curious :p

Well, mine is a mixture...

First reason was a was at a friends house, and we started to get bored of playing Blops on the PS3, so we went over to the computer and started browsing some websites, looking stuff up. Then he mentions that he got 'Counter Strike Source', and being a PS3 gamer at the time I had no idea what this was. So we launched it, and i got addicted. It was 10x better than blops. Tactical, focused, competitive, etc. He let me borrow his steam account, and it went from there...

Second reason I decided to switch to pc gaming was because when you bought a retail version of Portal 2 for the PS3, you got a free copy of Portal 2 for Steam (pretty cool) So I downloaded it and remembered about CSS! (My friend wouldn't let be borrow his account forever, just so i could try out some more CSS.) Instantly bought it, along with Gmod (on sale, was like 3 quid or something :p) From there i learned to love the advantages of PC gaming.

What got you into PC Gaming?

The original Diablo online and Starcraft + Brood War.
Shortly followed by CS 1.3 on LAN with every machine running the Mercenary pack skins. Some awesome moments.

I'm still considering getting an Xbox to be honest, more for lounge gaming, then again, having just seen the Steam Thingy (can't remember the name now), I probably don't need it...

My PCs have always been better than the latest consoles, so that pretty much won me over :p

I did play FIFA a lot on the PS2 & Xbox360 though, and a few other games like Tekken.

Some racers/games best played on controllers almost got me playing some games on consoles, then I bought a wired xbox controller for my PC.

I love real time strategy games. There are very few of these on consoles and even when they are, they are not very good. That is why i am a pc gamer. Basically, the Total War series means i have to have powerful PC at all times as i absolutely adore these games.

Console graphics make me laugh after seeing a PC pumping out games at max detail and at native 1080p.

After seeing games that I loved the look of on PC that consoles didn't have... Also the numerous other benefits won me over 60 times.

Played civilization 1 on a really old 150mhz Packard Bell that was state of the art competition win at thettime.
The civ disc was bundled with it. Gave it a try.

Also after playing command and conquer original on a mates console and gettingit for PC

2 of my all time favourites now

Love xbox also as it's relaxed

Hate ps3 ps2 ps1

May 2003 - finally ditched the Amiga as my primary machine.

Day after I built my first PC went into a game shop and purchased Planetside 1.

The rest is history.

When I first saw Age of Empires and Carmageddon on a mates pc. Empires for the detail and Carmageddon for the anarchy.

consoles look like gameboys in my eyes, and it had to be the old command & conquer on my dads PC when i was young, and half life

i have had a PS1/2 and have a PS3 atm but thats my blu-ray/media center for my lounge TV etc

i dont think i could ever go back to gaming on a console after seeing the graphics and effects from a powerful gaming PC :)

Monkey Island when I was young got me started thinking about gaming in general. I then started to play AoE a few years later multiplayer with a few mates over at small LAN parties. PC gaming from that point has always been my main gaming system. I own a 360 but rarely use it. I remember selling my PS2 when they first were about to afford my 9700 Pro. God those were some good times!

Always have been a PC gamer deep down since I started playing Little Big Adventure with my dad when I was about 2 :p. Had a stint where the PS1 grabbed my attention but never really got really into any consoles after that. These days I have most consoles post-NES but they only get used here and there when I get really into a game on that system.
