Witnessed a car in front hit the kerb and swerved into the car beside it.

I did pull over beside the car and asked if he was ok, he blanked me so I carried on driving....

What would you do?

depends... last week during flooding i watched a guy in front drive like an absolute moron, which ended in him overtaking the vehicle in front of him on double solid whites and speed off into distance only to see him about a mile down the road facing the other direction after plowing through foot deep water with gouge marks in the verge on the other side of the road where he obviously caught the front right in the deep water and spun it, he was out of the car on the phone looking a bit ****** off.
did i stop? did i ****! but then there was 2 cars stopped behind him.

Have stopped when I was behind a mate who got crushed by a bus. Have also stopped and asked a couple who rolled their car if they were ok. If it's someone being a *** then I'll just have a giggle and carry on if it isn't serious.

Depends really, seen some pretty bad motorway crashes but if 3-4 people have already stopped think i am just in the way.

Last bad one was probably on the m50-m5 junction. Lorry toppled over literally right in front of me. 3 people had already stopped and saw the driver getting out where the windscreen was so saw no point of adding to it.

I would stop if no one else had, but if 2 or 3 had already stopped I would carry on.
Really depends on situation to be fair though

If people are ok then there's no point hanging around like a odden. When I had a crash once I managed to get 2 cars stop and walk about talking and whatnot, both cars were off the road all parties were safe and fine and yet these morons were hanging around with nothing better to do. When the police turned up one of the people that turned up got breathalised and blew amber, police let him wait 20 mins because he said he's had a drink did it again and he blew green. What an idiot though, hanging around a RTA after drinking.

I've been 1st on scene a few times after an accident - and have offered to be a witness on other occasions. It's called being a decent human being. If you're not needed and you're not adding value then there's no point in staying.

Yes I would stop someone did it for me a few years back which helped me. An independent witness is always handy if an insurance claim is involved.

I stopped for a guy on the floor face down a few weeks ago next to his car on the pavement. Got out my car and walked over to help, I asked if he was OK and he looked up puzzled. Only then could I see his arm was down the cover for the water stopcock for his house and he was just trying to turn his water back on. He thanked me for stopping just in case with a big grin on his face. :o

I always stop, same with motorbikes I give them the thumbs up or down signal to make sure they are OK.

for sure as long as its safe to do so

same if someone broke down in front of me and looked stumped. ive done the whole walking for miles to find a phone routine before

takes a matter of seconds to ask someone if they are ok

Depends. If i'm in my own car i'll always stop.

If i'm on a shout it depends, I weigh it up against the job i'm going to. E.G if i'm going to a Cardiac Arrest i'm not going to stop for a car crash. Depending on how bad it looks i'll call it in.
