What is the best GPU 7950 out on the market currently and how can I decide?

I was leaning towards Gigabyte ATi Radeon GD 7950 Windforce 3X 3072MB, however there are a number of reviews which state Sapphire is one of the best.

Or should i pay for the 7970?

use: general use and some gaming

rusty is the saphire vapor x definately voltage locked?, as i've heard mixed views, along with the gigabyte and HIS IceQ Boost. Im asking because im looking to upgrade to a 7950 as well and want to overclock.

Ive got the Gigabyte 7950 and im very happy with it ...and its definitely not voltage locked.

Yeah thats what I assumed, but I've heard reports of people recieving locked windforce's. when did you order yours? as i've also heard that its to do with newer batches.

Not sure. There were a load of Sapphire cards being released voltage locked a while back. I'm not too sure about recent batches.

They're just more expensive than HIS/MSI/GB as well as not as good warranty/quality IMO.

Yeah I've been debating for a while but from what I keep hearing over and over is to go for HIS/Giga rather than the other manufactures. Only problem is that ill need a bigger case :).

Got a sapphire Dual-X and love it, the new sapphire trixx has removed the voltage lock for me and I'm pretty sure this also applies to the Vapor-x though not 100%.

Gigabyte WF3 7950 , this model, would like to see it a good bit cheaper, though I think it is the better card, certainly mine does 1250 core, max temp 64c (heaven), currently idling at 26c(heating is on Lol.) and only goes to 49% fan at max OC, very quiet too.:D

The gigabyte was on offer not very long ago at £239.99 iirc.

Now its the MSI, you just have to get in at the right time
