No 'official' stuff in the thread title?! For shame. :p

It does look good, but as with anything HTC, it will probably have something wrong with it.

My immediate concern is the battery life, I don't think it's scientifically/technically possible for the battery on this to be all that good.

Damn, only just seen this thread now, will post what I posted in the other thread here too.

Looks superb! I might have to put the nexus 4 on hold for the time being :p

Can't see this being any cheaper than £500.

As grudas has said the battery is actually very good, thread over on xda about it and people are getting great battery life from it, as good as the s/xl and gs 3, in fact I would say that it is probably better!

Hmmm, tempting. Potential Sensation replacement depending on how it feels to use. Battery life on my Sensation is really starting to grate now - it sometimes won't last a full day and I often find myself carrying a charger on trips where I know I might use it for a few hours of video which is pretty ridiculous.

I just hope they don't rush the phone out like they did with the one s and X, which had issues.

As robbo has said it is HTC, so they will get something, which is pretty important wrong :p :o :(

it won't have a big enough battery for me and I can't figure out if the led is rgb or just anber and green

Likewise, use it a lot more than what I would if it was the "menu" button.

Besides, with the newer sense version, you can remap the button so when you hold down it brings the settings/menu up or vice versa, hold to bring the multi-task window up and tap for the menu/settings. Although it doesn't really matter much now as a lot of developers are updating their apps to follow the ICS UI, so the menu button is on the top right of the app.

Yeah i use it far more as quick switch than settings too. Especially now most apps have a standardised menu button that doesn't waste space at the bottom of the screen.

Will be interesting to see the build quality of this. I would be sorely tempted to upgrade if it's decent as that's still what i love so much about the S. (but waiting a while to see what HTC decide to mess up first) :p

I imagine that the build/perceived quality will be good, more or less the same as the one X, will certainly be better than the GS 3 etc. but not as good as the one S.

The phone looks more ergonomic than the S/X though and the polycarbonate finish/plastic on the X is really nice to touch so it should feel very nice in the hand anyway. It would have been so much better if they used an aluminium uni-body with the MAO finish like the one S though!

I wonder if the international version will be splash resistant like the Japanese version....

Dimensions & weight compared to other phones:

Butterfly - 143 x 70.5 x 9.1 mm
140g

One X - 134.4 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm
130g

Galaxy S3 - 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm
133g

One S - 130.9 x 65 x 7.8 mm
119g

Note II - 151.1 x 80.5 x 9.4 mm
183g

The OneX isn't really ergonomic, too many sharp lines that don't aid comfort, the S3 is the most comfortable phone I have ever held and I have normal sized hands. Okay, the X feels more premium but what's the point if it's not comfortable to use :p

This looks good though. Back to the curvy edges. Which is nice.

Yeah the design of the X doesn't work well due to the size, feels much better/nicer on a smaller device like the S, I too find the GS 3 much nicer to hold in one hand than the X despite it being slightly bigger, but find the S more comfortable/nicer in the hand than the GS 3, but that is more due to the size :p

Personally not too keen on the design/looks of this phone though, particularly the red grills on the side, but as always, will wait to see it in "real life" first :p

They really should have put the unlock/power button on the side this time though, as it is a struggle reaching it with the one X.
