Duchess of Cambridge's nurse has reportedly been found dead

I cant see how anyone can say what their reaction would be if placed in the same situation, to be taken to the point to take your own life is a terrible thought.
 
Can you imagine how devastated she would have felt for bringing the hospital into disrupute? All for the sake of some cheap laughs for someone else.
 
She would have lost any hope of pursuing a career in a medical position, she should have known better then to hand over confidential information. Bit extreme to kill herself over it though, guess she thought she had no prospects at all :(

Expect some pretty harsh consequences for the DJs as well now, I've always hated prank calls.

They will lose their jobs, or at the very least will be put into a position where their only option is to resign, so near enough the same, they also won't be the only two who do.

Just look at the Andrew Sachs incident.
Russell Brand and the Controller of BBC Radio 2 were made to leave and Jonathan Ross lost all pay for 12 weeks. Further to that there was wide criticism by MPs and an Ofcom investigation with a £150,000 fine levied at the BBC also.

While yes this is another country this call emerged from, it did so to involve the Royals, who are watched from around the world and given the recent news was already the centre of attention. Further to that we have also just had the end of the Leveson enquiry, which is all about media ethics, so you can be sure that our Politicians will be outraged. Then we also just had a BBC Director General who knew nothing about what he was broadcasting in his main news investigation program. Does the Controller of this radio station know what he was putting out?

While we aren't presented with all the details of what has happened yet, I can safely say that people at that radio station will be falling on their swords.

If I was the DJ I'd probably resign, because as soon as they got put through and started to get told confidential information the decent thing to do would be to end the prank and come clean. Having listened to the broadcast I honestly believe the DJs didn't expect to get anywhere with it. The prank just became TOO successful and it didn't occur to them they should stop. I also issue a statement saying how sorry I was etc (truthfully).

They certainly aren't to blame for the death of the nurse.
 
Quite a few people who have become global laughing stocks after being turned into Internet memes have killed themselves.

I guess they most have all just been "weak willed" and the disproportionate number of suicides following cyber humiliation is just a coincidence.

If I'm driving my car and someone walks out into the road in front of me, gets hit, and dies, is that my fault? If I hadn't been driving the car they wouldn't have died.
 
whats even stranger is she wasnt even the person who discussed any details she was just acting as a receptionist there would have been no disclosure consequences for her would there?
 
Bloody hell, I just listened to the recording. Unless I'm missing something, all that the nurse said was that she was sleeping and hadn't been sick. It's hardly like she gave intimate details of her vaginal swabs. What a mountain out of a molehill.
 
First problem here is the media going ape about Kate's pregnancy in the first place.

Second and far larger problem is us, the general pubic, for generating demand for news on Kate's pregnancy.

There are a hundred and one more important and more interesting things going on in the world.

It's bonkers.
 
To impersonate the queen to get a health status from the royal live on air should be investigated full stop.

Who thinks to do something like this.
