Saving up to buy one of these just don't know which to go for, If I was to get the laptop I wouldn't carry it around with me, it would just sit in the same room as if I was to get the desktop. Desktops are just so darn big..

Chosen M18x specs:

I7 3630 QM
8 Gb 1600MZ
Dual 7970M 2GB AMD Radeon
750GB + 32GB SSD caching

Chosen aurora specs:

I7 3930K
8Gb 2133MZ
Dual 2Gb 680 GTX
750Gb + 32Gb SSD caching


The aurora would cost an extra £300 but the difference in spec is immense, just don't know which to go for.


By the way, I don't want any comments on better value for money on different specs of other machines, I know I pay more for the alienware brand.

Just get the desktop if you have no intention of travelling with the laptop. It would give a lot better performance than the laptop. But you seem to have wrote 680m? Does it use laptop graphics cards. if so, then just look into something else. But build it yourself blah..blah..blah

I've had many alienware systems over the years but you can get your auroral spec for half of what you will pay Dell if you self build. I would buy the alienware laptop though but not for what Dell would want.
Dell outlet or second hand for me
 
Nah I like things brand new, nothing worse knowing that other people have used it before. Yer I am leaning towards the M18x, could always build a similar spec to the aurora and then buy an aurora ALX case
