Well Last one I watched of these guys I thought Marquez won convincingly, even Pacquiao looked shocked at the decision. Hopefully judges this time (lol) will be a bit more partisan. Doubt they'd even get away with giving Pacquiao another win, would imagine the largely Mexican crowd would riot.

Hopefully Pacman forgets he's a politician for a night and remembers he's still pound for pound one of the best boxers around still. Another sloppy showing will put serious doubts in everyone's mind that he's still at Mayweather's level, who'd probably take advantage and fight him straight after (if Pacman still looks dodgy)

Also does anyone think it's time for Pacquiao to split from Freddie Roach? He looked so bad in the last Khan fight and imagine his disease will only worsen. Think Paciquao is too nice a guy to fire him though.

I don't really think it makes much difference to Pacquiao who his trainer is, at this stage of his career. And as he's probably invested so much time and trust in Roach, I don't see why he would split.

Speaking of Roach, he had another champ in the ring tonight, Chavez Jr, vs Sergio Martinez:
what a fight, well, in particular what an unbelievable 12th round. Roach has lost another champ now though. Sergio Martinez looks invincible, except for that 12th round of course.

The light-middle/middle/super middleweight divisions are full of potentially amazing match ups, though I dunno how realistic they may be- Alvarez, Martinez, Ward, Froch, Mayweather, Cotto. People talk about welterweight super fights, but the talent in those divisions is dwindling I reckon.

Pacquiao Vs Marquez IV

Hey,

New to the forum, been reading for years though and never really seen much on boxing in here. Just wondering if anyone here does watch religiously/casually ?

Looking forward to the fight tomorrow/well sunday morning? Any thoughts?

:)

I follow Boxing quite a bit, probably more than any other sport actually. Just saw the Kal Yafai fight a few minutes ago, he looks like he has serious potential. Kesslers fighting in a bit, he should win and then we get the Froch Kessler rematch some time next year which should be a cracker!

As for tonight's late one, going by history a good fight is pretty much guaranteed. Marquez looks much bulkier then I've seen him before, I think it will be explosive with both guys looking for the KO and I can't really call it. Pacquaio isn't the same fighter any more, and Roach seems to be on the decline with his fighters not doing so well recently.

Any idea what time the main event will be?

Yes, saw the Kal Yafai fight myself, was a great fight, got caught a couple times but did well yet again. Agree on the possible Kessler rematch with Froch, will see him later tonite. Guess the main event will be approx 4.30, it says 5 on the betting sites though.
Got it on PrimeTime?

Being Vegas probably 4-5am like usual. This one is probably Marquez's best shot at beating Manny as I think he's on the wane. He's said he wants a KO so he doesn't have to rely on the judges so we'll see.

Quite a few fights on at the minute got James DeGale on at 10 on Channel 5 as well, think Eubank Jr is fighting also, was only last Saturday he fought!
