I just installed that battery app that a lot of people on here have downloaded...has anyone had any issues with it updating on the live tile?

It seems to only update then I go into the app and come back out, the rest of the time the live tile seems to do nothing.

Any ideas?

the white 920 is exclusive to joining ee network, and ee only do contracts at the mo, so its exclusive to a ee contract :P as for the other colours people have said you are able to buy the phone on pay and go from orange or tmobile for 399, however looking on their websites there is no indication they offer the phone to buy on pay as you go.

as for buying the phone from phones4u, the handsets have been purchased from EE, so they do come with the free earphones

on a separate note, the battery level app for 79p that you say is not updating the live tile, i had a similar problem, but have a look around in the app store, there are many similar battery apps most for free that do the some thing but better. i like the app 'battery meter' cos it gives estimated talk time too.

i have got a white lumia 920.i got this on the t mobile full monty plan for £36 p/m.

Off/on your phone, worked for me, did exactly the same thing till I turned it back on them seemed to work fine.

Thanks for the reply mate...I thought that too but it didnt sort it out fully.

It seems a bit random, sometimes it updates, then other times nothing for ages. Am going to give it a proper full charge tonight so will see if that helps, maybe it just needs to calibrate with the phone.

There was someone in the thread who was getting unlocked through a website but I couldn't find any update on this.

i currently am in the process of getting it unlocked with funfoneshop, applied for the code 5 days ago, and it can take unto 10 days. will let the forum know the result

i need whatsapp badly too, and tango would be nice... but i very much doubt the above method would work, as evan if we could sideload, it would still probably be listed as incompatible when you try to install it
 
i did not realise how hard it is to get a wireless charging plate. i have phoned up my local ee stores and they dont have a clue..

well after doing some online research i have found out that carphone warehouse has the white colour in stock.. that is great because i have the white lumia..
now i can relax :D

I just did the same thing using them. Strangly the receipt says Lumia 800 and not 920. I emailed them to ask them to make sure the order is correct.

I will unlock my EE handset and probably sell it.

Interestingly enough my unlocked handset despite not showing 4G in the speed options let me turn it on using field test mode. I changed it to 4G only and noticed it was holding LTE much, much better than the EE model in auto mode. I then changed the unlocked handset to auto mode and it was automatically switching to LTE so I don't know if that is because I put it into 4G mode first or if auto mode would have done it by itself.

Update: they said as long as the IMEI is correct the model type doesn't matter.

Yeah I got one from P4U, ordered it last Tuesday and got it on Saturday. certainly stands out from the crowd.

To load XAP files you need a developer unlocked phone.

I had just changed my gamertag an hour or so before, that's probably why. Should work now, old tag was WalkedCashew545... an awful one supplied by MS! :o
 
Something really weird with my battery stats at the mo...installed another free monitor app, and it did the same thing...had to go into the app to get the tile to update. I had one above the other and they were saying different things!

Then...they both jumped to 26% from about 14...I think some calibration needs to go on!
 
I also read, that ee will give you the code if you use one of their networks for 3 months, or you can opt to pay £20 to them to get it early (provided your on their network.) might be worth looking into, temporarily opening a pay and go account on orange or tmobile and then try to get the unlock from them.
 
Do you guys think it's worth buying an unlocked one for £550 or waiting until January where it looks likely to be available on a wider scale?
