Traffic cops bbc1

What happened?

biker pulled over stinking of cannabis, put in back of police car started to get agetated so copper went to put cuffs on

biker then forced his way out of car trying to get away and starting smacking copper in the face with his fist with his motorbike key being used as a weapon

punctured hole in coppers face/nose blood going everywhere basically. biker eventually properly apprehended meanwhile copper is unconcious in middle of road covered in blood

See a guy on bike, go to pull him over, he doesn't stop. That said, considering the bike he was on, he didn't let it rip either.

Gets to traffic lights, they pull him over, he complies, and apologises for being a **** basically.

Anyway, they start to smell weed, and they also recognise him. He says he was at a mates who was smoking, but they think its suspicious because the bike reeks of it. Asks him how to get into the bike, he says you can't.

They get him in the back of the car, and put one handcuff on him, he gets leverage on a seat, pushes himself out of the car and goes mental. One cop keeps hold of the other handcuff, whilst he drags them round, kicking and punching. In the free, punching, hand he has a key. Basically stabs a hole in the officers face. They finally pin him down though, and back up arrives.

Officer who got stabbed is passed out, with a massive hole in his face, a lot of blood as well. They said at the end they did some pretty serious damage to his nose as well. He had a fit of some kind as well, later on, but said he's now made a full recovery.

They impound the bike, manage to find how to open it. Find 24 bags of canabis.

The guy pleaded guilty to two charges of assault and something else. Got 9 months.

Edit: Burnsy, maybe you could shed some light on this one, but obviously officers and such were complaining that the public weren't helping, but personally, as a member of the public, I'd be afraid, that if I tried to help or something, I myself might be done for assault or similar?

The end summary said he was charged with two counts of assault and possession of weed and cocaine. Presumably the cocaine was possibly found at his address, unless some was on the bike which they didn't see when they spoke to the camera initially. I would imagine the prosecution weren't able to get him on dealing charges though, given that he was charged with possession?

9 Months is pretty rubbish though for somebody who assaulted police officers, taking two of them away from the frontline along with clearly being a drug dealer.

Yeah, just finished watching the episode regarding the Swedish Kamikaze twins. It's kind of worrying to think how many people out there are literal ticking time bombs of crazy.

Don't be afraid, you have loads of legislation to back you up. You can use reasonable force to assist a constable effect an arrest, indeed, if I shouted at you to help and you didn't, you yourself would technically be breaking the law. If a constable thought you were using excessive force, they'd likely tell you very clearly, but ultimately be thankful for your assistance.

Although rarely used, refusing to to assist a constable is punishable by an unlimited fine and even imprisonment.

Also remember that an assault must be unlawful. If you are helping a constable arrest someone, it's highly unlikely to be unlawful.

I felt a bit sick watching the bobby lying in the road, and the panic in his colleagues' voices as they stood around him. In hindsight, you can criticize his colleague's actions, but he stopped it from being far worse, he was obviously restraining himself in his actions in light of the cameras pointed in his direction. I think I'd have got a few punches in, he could have justified it I think. The assaulted officer did a fantastic job despite his injuries to keep hold of that cuff too, it could have been really nasty if he'd broke free with that.

s3 Criminal Law Act 1967:

A person may use such force as is reasonable in the circumstances in the prevention of crime, or in effecting or assisting in the lawful arrest of offenders or suspected offenders or of persons unlawfully at large.

As long as you don't go wading in and making things worse, or beat the **** out of him, your help would usually be much appreciated :)

more odd is that the cameraman didnt help. surely he could have set down his camera and jumped on the guy. i guess showbiz trumps cop beatings...

I thought about that too, but then they may have always had a clause about getting involved. I think the whole thing happened so fast anyway and probably thought it wouldn't turn out like that.

What I did think was ironic was that the officers were trying to find out what happened to the injured officer, I heard one even say it might be on CCTV. Yet there was a BBC cameraman there with HD quality footage, all they need do was rewind it!

9 month is pathetic. I bet if i randomly walked up to a police officer and lamped him, i would see up to 5 years for GBH with intent.

He probably said something along the lines of "I forgot the keys were in my hand and it just happened to connect with the officer's face as I tried to get away".

Well played to the officer hanging on to him though while bleeding all over the place and moments away from unconsciousness.

Camera staff are told not to intervene and tbh having it all on high definition film is worth it's weight in gold.

It is unbelievable how many people just watch while the officers are in trouble, help out for goodness sake! I'm not exactly Mr T but I'd be doing my best to try to help out...

Be interesting to see what happens with the Ursula and Sabina thing next year when she is released, if they both meet up again post release and something happens the do do will most certainly hit the fan.

Wiki says she is out on parole while the other sister is in the states....

edit

Also I may completely ignorant of this, when ever I see these things they struggle so much to get people onto the floor. surely baton/kick to the back of the legs then just jump on them. Obviously much easier being a keyboard warrior, but it always amazes me how much trouble the police - who must have training have getting people down.

I am sure this is not a new series, either i have a sever case of deJa Vu or i have seen this before. I have definitely seen the the footage of the two sisters before and the guy on the Moped who failed to stop due to no MOT. I am pretty sure i've seen footage of the guy on the motorbike with the cannabis before too.

The 2 sisters is a different episode teulk from the embedded youtube vid on the first page
I hadn't seen this one, nasty stuff with the cop, so close to his eye.

What a bunch of nutters, was shocked when they didn't find any drugs in the blood sample.

It was interesting to learn one of the sisters jumped off a bridge above the A50, me and a mate took one of our many drives to OCUK around this time to see a blood on the floor around a grate under a bridge of the A50, might have been this woman.
