Far Cry 3 Thread

I love it when you stumble in to enemy camp sometimes and all looks easy with max 5 guys to pick out. Then something goes wrong they call in support and you have 25 guys to deal with. All hell brakes loose then with a massive gun fight. (like that mission with weed burning - there must have been over 20 guys all armed).

That weed bruning mission was difficult because I was silly and only had space for one gun... i.e the flamethrower :(

does that mean there are no more pirates in the game when you reach the end ?

I captured all the outposts, and did all the side missions/path of the hunter/wanted dead quests before the final main mission, so for me, no there aren't any pirates, but as momo said, if you start shooting at friendlies, they will shoot back :p

Only things I didn't complete, are the collection of all the relics/crates/lost letters, decided I couldn't really be bothered with those at the end (or at least enough to go out of my way to collect them)

Far Cry 3 PC patch 1.03 available now

NewsPublish Date 13/12/2012 - 10:23am GMT

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adjustable HUD will form part of update 1.04, says Ubisoft.

Far Cry 3 PC update 1.03 has been released, but it's not going to make much difference to the majority of gamers.

Patch notes:

Added Russian and Czech language support for Steam versions.
Fixed issues for machines that have more than 32 cores.
Fixed issues for activation keys bundled with ULC privileges. ULC content will now unlock during activation.
Improvements to playlists and rotation for User Made maps

The requested changes to enable an adjustable HUD aren't included with 1.03,
but Ubisoft has confirmed they will form part of the next update.

Far Cry 3 Patched to 1.03, Includes Multiplayer Playlist Fixes

The PC version of Far Cry 3 has been patched up, bringing the game up to version 1.03. The patch only appears to add proper support for Russian and Czech versions for the game, in addition to some stability fixes.

The update also fixes issues relating to the deluxe edition of the game, by allowing Steam owners to now properly unlock the premium DLC content during activation.

Finally, the patch adds improvements to playlists and rotation for user-made maps in its competitive multiplayer mode so players won't have to trawl through the same few maps on repeat anymore.

Fielding questions from the community, Ubisoft's community manager says that the team at Ubisoft has plans to release the HUD changes in the next upcoming patch. As we detailed in a previous news post, Ubisoft intends to make the visibility of the HUD and user interface optional for players who want to play the game without overlays obscuring the display. At the moment, it's only possible to hide it with a hack.

To download the latest patch for Far Cry 3, just log onto the game on Steam.

Fixed issues for machines that have more than 32 cores. This some kind of joke? Is the even such thing, like I can go and buy 32 core CPU?
Surely this is a typo.

// SMAA on if no other anti-aliasing is used. Otherwise turn off as it will just waste resources.
// LumaSharpen if using blurry AA (FXAA or High MSAA). Otherwise it will strengthen aliasing and look awful. Keep it low regardless.
// Bloom kills FPS in this game but makes up for DX9 having much weaker bloom than DX11. Turn off if FPS tanks....
// LGG for darker shadows and SLIGHT color adjustments.
