A couple of nights ago, I was out with a few friends for a couple of drinks.
I had a few beers, and topped them off with a sneaky Aftershock. Not a good idea.
Knowing I was probably over the limit - I did something I'd never done before... I took a taxi home.
I passed a load of police at a roadblock, but as it was a taxi they just waved me through.
I arrived home safe and sound, which was a real surprise.
I have never driven a taxi before, and I'm still not really sure where I got it from.

:)

Genuine story from me (and no I'm not proud).

A couple of years ago I had to pick up a mate from his house, I'd just drunk a double vodka minutes before I got in the car.

On the way back to mine, I was pulled over by a police van. They wanted to breathalyze me but luckily for me after a few minutes of searching they didn't have one on them.

I don't get drunk easily so could stay composed fairly easily and in the end the copper said "Well you look OK to me so you can go" but I'm sure I would have probably just failed a test.

Phew!

I got asked after my car accident (not my fault btw) had I had anything alcoholic in the last 30 minutes...I think they wait so they dont get false positives.

Two coppers are driving around when they decide to follow a car. The guy in front of them drives the speed limit on every road they follow him on, he indicates well in advance of turning and adheres to every road sign he encounters.

After about 20 minutes they decide to pull him over just to compliment his driving ability. The guy winds down his window and the policeman who approached his car says "I just wanted to say, we've been following you for 20 minutes and you haven't put a foot wrong, it's unusual for us to see such a good driver".

The man looks at the copper and says "Wale, when you're as pished as I...as I....as I am you, you, you have to be kurfull"

Lol.

On a serious note I get a lot of stick from people because if we go out anywhere and I am driving I won't have a single drink of alcohol. I'd just rather have a zero tolerance approach to it.

You always get the "just have one, you'll be alright!"

I drove to our night out the other night but started drinking. Ended up getting up at 8am with about 3 hours sleep thinking if I get dropped at the car I could drive the short distance to work......my dad said otherwise and dropped me at work and would take me to the car later.

I was glad he did as I was more flying than I first thought!

Poor joke.

However, today was the first time in my town that I've seen a police roadblock for breathalyzing people, weird to see!
