What was/is your favourite arcade game?

Sega Rally, Daytona, Tekken are probably my top 3.

I hate to think how much money I've spent in arcades over the years.

There was an awesome arcade in Paris, circa 2002. I spent so much money in there playing Virtua Fighter.

Some others.

Aliens
Star Wars Arcade
The Simpsons
TMNT

Battle Zone!

(I discovererd that if you get the high score high enough instead of starting with a "Sitting Duck" standard tank, It starts instead with a "super tank" which smartly turns and shoots you in the face! Then it gets hard!)

Asteroids.

Nerdy question ;)

What shape (Topography) is the Asteroids Universe??

(If you know the answer, keep quiet for now. If you don't, think about it)

Pitfall, Shinobi, world cup 1990, altered beast. An helicopter game which I played to death but I've forgotten what it was called.

I know ;)

Star Wars has to be my favourite arcade game. I remember there used to be a proper sit down cabinet in an arcade where we used to go on caravan holidays.

Or

I liked S.H. as it was on a movable seat and the only arcade game I actually 'beat' and finished all the levels! :D

Outrun, Chase HQ, Bubble Bobble.

I have an old 1970s cabinet with MAME - so much nicer playing games on a proper joystick/flickery old monitor!

Star Wars sit down, Return of the Jedi, Moon Cresta, Bubble Bobble, 4 player Kick n Run, Pole Position, Bomb Jack, Paperboy, Phoenix, Out Run, Super Sprint, Galaga, i could go on!

It was a wonderous time when a new machine came into the arcades.

I have a little arcade on mame with every game that was in arcades of my youth (early-mid 80's).

A lot, I absolutely loved the arcades as a kid.

Loads of classics mentioned above but I remember the huge crowd around Street Fighter 2 at the arcade when it was first out.

Playing that especially in 2 player was EPIC!

SF2

There was also a dirt bike game that you sat on and had to do wheelies to jump over hay bails as you raced. Used to play it every time I was on holiday at an arcade in Ballycastle.

Wish I could remember the name of the arcade game I played back in the late 80's. Was a side scrolling shoot em up, you controlled a little guy that would do summer saults as you jump, was set in a sci-fi location.

I can picture it in my head but can't for the life of me think of its name. It was the game that got me started in computing and games, shortly after I bought an Amiga 500 and several years later an A1200 :)
