How do you show disapproval towards Publishers/Developers

Definitely vote with your wallet.

None of them give a toss what you say on forums so vote with your wallet... It's the only way to be sure. ;)

I don't buy their games. I did that with Creative Assembly and didn't buy Napolean or Shogun 2. Same with Bioware and EA (Mass Effect 3/Dragon Age 2/Origin), and now with Firaxis and that bizzare direction they took with DLC for XCom.

For me the pirate brigade that claim to act on principle are just 'entitled' children with no self control. If the developer goes bust, tough.

You shouldn't pirate a game full stop. No-one has the right to own a game, or to "object" in this way.

It is a way of encouraging people to buy a game at full price rather than wait until a sale. I do object to day 1 DLC, but that is a seperate matter, and guarantees I will wait for a while before purchasing.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is available as DLC later.

Some people just look for an excuse to pirate.

Pirates use any excuse for their theft, claiming it's sending a message that they are not happy about X, Y, Z problem is just an excuse, 9 times out of ten they would pirate the game anyway, they are the reason we get ridiculous DRM on games (another reason pirates give for pirating ironically). If I don't like a direction a game is heading, I go on the official site & explain why I won't be buying & then I don't buy simple as that, pirating the game just sends the message that PC gaming is rife with thieves!

Hadn't heard about this before now, but to have a difficulty mode and hud removal as a pre-order only deal, is a really sleazy move on their part. Guns are one thing but an entire setting which many gamers will prefer as fans of the series...it's just cheap.

I don't pirate games - I just don't buy them, but if others want to pirate them instead it doesn't bother me, as the publishers get the same message.

If anyone pirates this game because of this you are basically ****. The only way to show your opinion on the pre order bonus is to not buy the game and not pirate it. The only thing you are showing by pirating it is that you want games for free. You're giving publishers ammunition for DRM, console exclusivity periods (and complete exclusivity) You do not have a right to play a game, grow up and speak with your wallet, not just on some internet forum.

what other product in the world do you get to "choose" if you pay for it or not depending some arbitrary reason BUT you still to keep the product?

what a load of rubbish

if you want to pirate games just get on with it quietly dont bother trying to justify it

anyway am I missing the point? people who want to buy this game and also want the preorder dlc ? why dont they just preorder it ?

If I don't agree with the direction a publisher has chosen then I simply don't buy the game. This has been the case with most UbiSoft games as well as the latest Bioware games, Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3.

I also hate people looking for excuses to pirate, a way to justify it to themselves. If you're going to pirate, just do it but don't blame someone else for it.

If a publisher makes a run of crappy games eventually people will stop buying them and thwy will go out of business. If you have a specific greivence then theres bound to be a threads on the issue on internet forums around the world and at some point any business worth theor salt will have to reaponsed in some way.

The only thing a developer/publisher will acknowledge is loss of sales. And even then (looking at you Activision) unless that results in a loss of profit they will still probably ignore it because some games are clearly rushed with lots of corners cut in the name of profit.

EA/Bioware have proven with Dragon Age 2 that complaints about a game are met with trolling from moderators and developers alike so once you've bought it you've already lost.

The piracy thing spirals out a bit what with incompetant companies like Ubisoft then funding over-zealous DRM that cripples things for regular users more than anyone else.

My thoughts exactly. Similar thing with the star wars game. Not a lot of people paid and subcribed so there making it free to play.

If companies want to keep there customer based, they'll adapt. If they don't, more for them.

piracy is bs excuse for poor games being made .piracy is as always has been at same level.

even cartridge games for eg was pirated for consoles as much as games are downloaded

just don't buy the tripe that is being made forget about media spin its that simple.

i can see why some do though out of 2012 games wise the games i would say that were actually worth purchasing i would struggle to name more than two !

I don't get this pre-order only thingy.
Does that mean that you can only buy it before it's actually released, and anyone wanting to have it after it's been released is going to be told to f.ck off?
Seems a strange way of doing business.
