Looking for a couple of games to play over Xmas.

As title says, want something to play over the Xmas period.

Games I already have and enjoy playing.

All Mass Effect series.
All AC games.
All COD, BF and MW.
Prototype 1&2.
Ghost Recon, Future Soldier.
Red Faction.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
Crysis 1&2.
Dishonoured.
Max Payne 1,2&3.
M.O.H and Warfighter.
Rage.
Gears of War.
Tron Evolution.

Games I have tried but could`nt get into.

Alan Wake.
Doom.
Diablo.
Witcher.
Skyrim.
Arma.
Xcom.
Metro 2033 but still trying to give this a go.
Farcry.
Borderlands.

Have no interest in strategy or multiplayer games or games where you spend more time making potions, etc,.
So, what can you recommend?

And please don`t turn this into a game debate or ****ging match. Just games you think I might like based on what I already enjoy.

Ever tried Just Cause 2 ? That took months of my life away. Even when you complete the storyline (if you follow it) you can keep going as there are bags of missions and other jape's you can do.

Throw in a few choice mods too and it will last a while.
 
Minecraft & Terraria will grab you, if you got on with Crysis, then Far Cry 3 will also hook you in, it's a very insulting game as it treats you like an idiot the whole way through, but it's basically a hybrid between Just Cause 2 and the first Crysis.

+1 for the Just Cause recommendation.

Will have a look at Darksiders and Just Cause II, they look like a bit of fun.

Minecraft, Terraria are not the sort of games I play, don`t` have the patience or attention span. Nor are arcade type games.

As already mentioned, tried Farcry( first one), got as far as the derelict ship and lost interest and don`t seem to have the inclination to try again. So will probably pass on Farcry 3, thanks for the thought.

Will also have a look at the Steam and other sales.
Just bought a couple of games, cheap, the other week Hitman: Blood Money and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, not impressed with either.

But will keep looking.
 
What about Faster Than Light? FTL.

Has permadeath but has crew management and combat, the game map changes on every play through too

I did, got half way through it and got bored.
Can`t play games like Witcher, that involves spending more time in menus/hud(spells and potions,etc), than actual game play. As I have already mentioned, I have a low attention span, so need plenty of action and a good story line to keep me interested.
 
Don't knock Farcry 3 just because you didn't like the original, they're nothing alike :).

It's pegged by many as Game of the Year!
