Hi everyone, I am looking for some sensible help with a dispute, its with another online retailer, not OC.

They claim my item was delivered, a well known courier firm has my signature and records the van's GPS near me. They claim "a man signed for it", however I was at work that day and the only person in the house was the wife!

At the moment its their word against mine, any suggestions?

Thanks

Thanks for the quick advice, can I just reverse the credit card transaction?

Or will Barclaycard want to see some "evidence" first?

Funnily enough we aren't Barclaycard customer services so why don't you call the people who can offer you the best advice and authorise the reversal rather than people who will simply speculate?

You need to give the retailer a reasonable opportunity to rectify the problem. If they are unhelpful then by all means ask Barclaycard to reverse the transaction. Barclaycard will expect you to have tried to resolve the issue beforehand.

surely work can say you were there that day?

I've now got the courier signature, its definately not mine, it has extra "loops" in the characters which I dont write.

So, I'll try again to convince the retailer, if not then Barclaycard.

I had this once with an order from here.

Courier driver was proper dodgy. Took about a month to sort out and replacements sent out. Was a different driver the second time!

Yep, I think this is my scenario.

I've told the retailer, send another one or I will reverse the transaction with barclaycard. Maybe it was a temp driver for christmas?

Wrong, the consumer credit act means that they and the retailer are jointly liable and you can go after one, the other or both (assuming the purchase was over £100 and under £some large amount and all or part was paid with a credit card), I'd tend to go for the retailer first though!

Wow!

The same happened to me today. Tracking said that it was signed as my surname but I was at work as well as with the OP. Signature has obviously been forged. Haven't had any calling card to say if it's with a neighbour. DPD's site don't offer a CS number, so I've submitted details via their web form for now. If no response in 24 hours, I'll take the advice from the responses here and go via the retailer.

OP - what was your courier?

Apart from that, my story is the same as the OP's.

I didnt get a card either (I forgot to add their web system claimed a failed delivery the day before).

My courier is the one connected to the post office.

Again, I wonder if it was a temp DPD driver just for christmas?

Cheers David. For me, today was their first/only attempt. Thankfully it wasn't a Christmas present, so delivery date isn't urgent.

Yeah the Post Office's one is Parcel Force.

People who have used DPD's web query - how long shall I give it for them to respond before I go back to the retailer?
