Great series!

If you like war films/tv then you'll love this. One of the best!

Are you really comparing a Mac Mini to my PC? lol

Well, you could have had YOUR PC (since it is already there up and running with the CPU/GFX/Mobo/RAM/HDD/SSD) with your existing monitor.

And you also have a new Mac Mini, which is another machine, muuch smaller, quieter, compact, tidy and discrete.

What you have done makes no improvement whatsoever, your PC runs at the same speed, does the same thing.

So no, I am not comparing a Mac Mini to your PC.

I am comparing a Mac Mini to a shell and some cables.

Just my 2p.

To be honest, this is the last large PC based purchase i am able to do for a loooong time, due to buying a house next year.

It's not just cables and a case. It's a liquid cooler, to keep it cooler and quieter, new PSU because i'm sick of coil whine and a 120Hz monitor because i'm an FPS gamer and have wanted one for ages.

But also, why the hell would i want a Mac Mini? Lol this is what i'm confused about. I don't want a Mac mini, i have a Macbook Pro if i want to just lounge around on the Internets.
This is personal preference, this is what I want. Granted you, and many others would've bought other things for the money. Every single person in this thread.
We all want different things. This is what i wanted and that's all that matters.

Thank you for your 2p, but it's completely irrelevant.

Seriously, why would someone buy a Mac Mini when they are looking to rehouse their existing system?

My 2p is that you should have bought an original xbox and put xbmc on it, it doesn't do what you want but that's just my opinion lol.

Ha, get that too, although Band of Brothers is the best out the 2. Still definitely worthy of watching the Pacific.

Also try and watch Generation Kill, about the invasion of Iraq 2003.

Pretty much how i see the "you should/could have bought such and such" comments.

In fact, i could've bought hundreds of creme eggs.

That actually sounds quite tempting though lol

The idea is to get a silent machine, a mac Mini is just that.

But your route = 1 silent machine.

Mac Mini route = 2 machine.

It's like buy 1 get 1 free.

Stop thinking of it as buying a Mac, since a Mac can run windows how, it has the same CPU as any windows machine.

It's stuff like this that I find funny when some PC users says "Oh a PC is so much better value for money". Then I see this? The cost of make it silent and quiet you can buy an entire machine that already comes running silent and quiet.

Baffles me.

p.s. If you are saving for a house next year, I would've saved that £1k towards the house than to put it into some cables that offers no performance value.

But why would you want to swap between two PCs all the time? PCs CAN be better value if you wish, I built my machine on a budget of £900 and I have a 256GB SSD, 2TB HDD, slot load blu-ray and a graphics card that can handle the very latest games - if I spend another £100 I can add watercooling too. It's far more powerful than any Mac Mini you could ever buy. No one cares what you would have done because it is not your money?

They don't have the same CPUs either, too much to pull apart, can't be bothered.

He gets a decent silent machine vs a decent machine and a worthless silence machine.

It can run windows, wow. So can my silent 9 year old laptop but that doesn't make it better than an i7 system.

Also to spec up a mac mini with 16gb ram and a 256gb ssd goes over £1.2k
