For £50 that is indeed a bargain for what are some outstanding quality speakers sound quality wise.
 
Do monitors have an active speaker with analogue bass and treble controls on them??
I'm not speaking from experience and happy to be wrong :) just thought that studio monitors were supposed to be as close to flat as physically possible.
 
In essence yes, but it's the built in amp that's controlling the levels not the speakers themselves. These aren't the sort of monitors you'll be producing stuff on, they are however very nice.

You are indeed correct which is why someone such as myself would spend circa £1k on monitors and have indeed done so.

They can act as monitors by leaving the dials at zero as indicated in the manual or adjusted if you want to have a gaming session or a listen to some music rather than creating it even if the creating part is more basic. But look at the price, someone who wants a play with music creation or to start off would find this perfect for the job.

At least the Rokit 6's, I have been looking at the VXT's also. I thought the 5's may be a little too small but then again the room I'm in isn't huge...
