Bigger box!
Right, I'm in the fortunate position that I only have to buy for my twelve year old daughter, but as of right now I've not got a single thing.

People are telling me that today is the worst day to go and I won't manage it etc...
I reckon it'll be done in two hours tops with no fuss.

I'll be going to Bluewater just outside London which has the pro of being massive and probably housing everything I'm going to need, and the con of probably being one of the busiest shopping centres on the busiest day of the year.

I'll keep this updated throughout the day and at the end you'll all know whether next year you should start early, or man up like me and do it last minute!

I'll try to keep it interesting, but if it's as bad as I'm told you may just get bullet points!

Wish me luck and Merry Christmas OcUk!!

Will take you the 2 hours just to park!

And having it done without any problems? Have you not seen Jingle All The Way?

Man up? Proper man does it online. I did it all on Tuesday, it all arrived yesterday.

I did 90% of it online. I went to Kingston once a few weeks ago to do some xmas shopping. By 13:00 i wanted to go on a killing spree.

I've never understood people who can't just get in and get out if they don't want to browse. The only con about doing it now is that sometimes if there's a must-have childrens toy (or big kids toy XD) it may be out of stock in some places.

You don't need luck, it's simple :)

Btw I went to Bluewater for the first time last year after hearing how it was the biggest shopping centre in the UK quite some time ago. I wasn't impressed tbh and I prefer the Westfield in central.

Why not shop online? Cheaper prices, cash back and you can choose a delivery time suitable for you.

The thought of queuing for parking and dodging people in aisles with bags and prams etc, is hell for me.

Each to their own, I suppose. Good luck.

lol,

///expects first update at ///

11:00 1 mile away from car park entrance,

Gonna do mine today (was kinda counting on the end of the world to get me out of it) Still in no rush though, Showered & that but still in my dressing gown. :p
It's traditional for men to wander about getting it all done at the last minute & I'm not the kind of guy that likes to go against tradition. :D

We finished our Christmas food shopping this morning. I had been dreading it. Our local Sainsburys opened at 6AM and we got there about 7 in the dark, driving rain. The shop was really busy already but, surprisingly, everyone was calm and polite - noticeably more so than usual. I think this must have been because all the people there were the sensible ones who had enough common sense to be there early.

I wish every shop was that good. £200 lighter though!

Some guy started setting fire to a load of different shops in Kingston during the rush earlier this week. It must be quite bad there, I haven't been to the Bentalls centre for years but it was always a nightmare around this time.

I hope the op does a follow up topic on visiting the toilet since this one is a thrill a minute on an equally menial task

Haha really?

Probably suffered the same madness i was about to succumb to. My gf wanted to go into Primark and as i walked around there i started to see red and pinpoint people for execution :p
