Hi

Thinking to get Darksiders 1 + 2 on pc and also probably space marine 40k. (all slash/beat em ups) Probably best if i get a xbox controller for using the pc, (i dont have a xbox)

Anyone got these games and is it worth getting a gamepad for it on the pc?

Got Dark Souls down the line where i know a pad going to be much better.

Cheers
Kyo

Buy a pad, it'll come in handy in some way or another and I doubt you'll regret it. Definitely get it for Dark Souls though, even if it had the best KB&M controls in a 3rd person action game I'd still use a controller.

Thanks for the advice, I think your right cannot go wrong tbh. I seen one going for around £15 edition. Think that a good price for brand new?

I eventually got one a year ago and really it's been used flat out. I got the afterglow version (basically the same as original but see through and with flashing leds lol) because it was £11. Well worth it imo.

Have you already got a wireless Xbox pad?

Also I've played Darksiders 2 on my keyboard. It's not that bad.
Test it out, you might like it.

EDIT : "(i dont have a xbox)"
Yeah I should have read the whole thing properly next time.

Still give Darksiders a go on the keyboard/PC

Get a wireless pad. I have a wired one and it annoys me no end. So much so that I prefer to play platformers with my keyboard.

I love using KB+M so I haven't bothered to get a wireless one yet. But I will get one when GTAV is out on PC (to drive the vehicles). :D

Definitely worth getting a pad and going for the Microsoft official xbox ones as they work seamlessly with lots of games out of the box. I use it for any console ports like Darksouls, Dishonoured or Darksiders. Got my PC rigged up to my TV and it provides a much better graphical experience then any console! :)

Right just bought an official xbox Batarang edition controller for £15. So pretty reasonable price :D

Yeah i heard the same thing, the port conversion of Dark Souls on pc is best played on controller.

Wired 360 controller was a great buy for myself. Use it a good bit for street fighter or racing games on the pc. Plug it in and go no drivers of any kind that it doesnt sort itself in under a minute.

You have a long wait:)

As many have said buy a pad. An official Wired pad will set you back about 23 quid so it isn't expensive. It is a worthwhile purchase.

Probably should have asked this at the start, i take it all xbox controller (wired) have a usb connection ?

Darksiders would probably be fine with a keyboard tbh

Only games I feel "need" a gamepad are:

Beat em ups,
Sports games,
Racing games.

Anything else is usually ok with a keyboard, I don't think a gamepad is essential unless you play a lot of the genres I listed.

A gamepad would enhance darksiders but honestly mouse + kb would not be "awful" in any way.

Wierd coincidence - I was considering getting a gamepad and went out and bought one yesterday. Got a MadCatz XBox one from Asda for £15.

They all have usb connections, they connect to an Xbox360 via usb :)
Unless you are planning on buying one second hand, that has the end of the cable missing (it has an xbox1 connector on it too)
