There is an inn keeper near here, bledd would know him, bought a load of the 3 for £20 stuff to sell as off sales at closing time. Easy money.
There was a max per customer rule here, but it is ignored by the staff, and the offer had ended when I went in yesterday

The question isn't as stupid as some may insinuate while rolling their eyes sarcastically in this thread. There is probably a policy to say how many you can buy of a certain offer. As mentioned though it's not normally strictly enforced unless it's a really good offer.

Yeah, also in Sainsbury's recently I noticed some of the spirits had little notices on the price labels saying how many you could buy at a time. Don't think they were on offer either.

Yeah, they have loss leaders to attract customers in - the last thing they want is the local 24 hour corner shop owner buying up all of the stock to sell on at a profit which happens a lot and why they restrict number of purchases of a certain item per customer.

Surprised that a lot more people in this thread didn't realise that, feel free to roll eyes back at them OP.

I was incredibly confused by the opening post until I realised that "snapped it up" has changed meaning and now means "take a photo of something", rather than "purchased quickly".

I thought readers would have known, to take a snap, snapped it up, as that's how I say it to people IRL and people understand. Sorry for the confusion.

From this I assume,

Due to the fact that the number of purchases is limited per customer when an offer is on, i assume that these beverages were priced at the full retail price. This means that the gentlemen who have purchased these drinks paid the full price. So from that i assume if they had gone elsewhere, to a place of discounted beverages or a place holding a sale, they could have saved some hard earned cash. Which could have helped over this festive period.
