Hey,
Just saying this is my first build, preferable nvidia GPU as i will be using this mainly for EvE (which prefers nvidia) and LoL etc. Any advice/builds would be very welcome and advice on why each is preferable etc. Would maybe like the Zalman Z11 and the Dell 24 Ultrasharp, but apart from that i don't have a clue :D

Didn't know EVE prefers Nvidia  I can run it max settings on 1080P on a 6850.

Also this for tower, monitor, OS and mouse keyboard etc?

670 + Ultrasharp will go over budget. I wouldn't worry about particular games preferring a manufacturer.

Tower/monitor, but not OS mouse or keyboard. I was thinking msi 660ti with a z77 board, (no idea which one) 128gb SSD, Dell ultra 24 monitor, and anything else? :D

The builds all look amazing, and i've read up on ATI vs Nvidia quite a bit, but i still can't understand why one is better than the other, could someone simply just state in a paragraph or so why I should go for Nvidia or ATI over the other one? The other bits and pieces are easy enough to find, but the three main things that I'm concerned about are the Mboard, RAM and Graphics cards?

I know I'm asking a lot but £1000 is a lot for me to spend on something, so i just want to make sure that i have the best possible :D
Thanks again for all the help

For all of these just copy RJC's second build above.

RAM - Get the cheapest Dual Channel DDR3 1600Mhz kit 8GB.
MOBO - Get one with the features you need, but not extra features which just cost more.
GPU - One isn't better than the other, people are jaded by their past experiences so you get fanboys from either side. Base your purchase on the best bang-for-buck in the current generation - which at the higher end is the 7950.

Ok i think i get it now, i read some reviews on the Saphire 7950 and it seems to be pretty amazing. the MOBO that is said is 90 odd, and gigabyte do another one for 100, but i don't have any idea what the difference between them is or anything, very confusing, but i'll trust your guys judgement and go for that one :P

Hey now I have too many options to go for, more confused than when I started :(
Could I get the opinions of any more people that agree or disagree with the above builds, too much choice!!
