Looking at buying a laptop for gaming when away from home. I had narrowed it down to either the Alienware m18x or Vortex 3 elite but now the Omega Supreme has been released from the same company that looks better than the elite but is chunkier as it uses a desktop cpu. What are your thoughts on using desktop processors in laptops?

Have you checked out the OCUK laptops?

The MSI ones look awesome.

Yeah had a look at them, I'm looking for a dual 7970 laptop though. That's what drew me to the Alienware, Vortex Elite and Omega Supreme.

Still can't decide between the 3 though. The size of the Omega puts me off slightly but I do like the styling of it as well as the Alienware which when spending so much is important to me.

I got a W370ET (Optimus IV) and I'd personally recommend the Vortex. You just can't beat the price/performance from that particular vendor.
