Whats your Loose Change Limit?

I tend not to carry cash full stop unless there is a reasonable need to do so such as paying for parking etc and even then i keep a load of change in the tray of the car for that sort of stuff.
i prefer to use card where possible.
if i get given any note cash its either used the next time i go shopping or it gets put into the bank.

Same here. Hate carrying cash around - notes or coins.

My loose change limit is about 15 seconds...

But for coinage it's about a tenner in 50's and pounds, and about a pound or two in smaller (20's, 10's, 5's and 1's or 2's)

I do not like lots of loose change - My patience as both the customer and the cashier runs out at 10-20 seconds.

If I pay in shrapnel it makes me feel like a peasant.

I think 'serve yourself' supermarket checkouts are a good way of getting rid of a lot of loose change.

Depends what denomination of coin it is. I'd go up to 15 quid if it were pound coins and 50p, but anything smaller than that and it drops to a fiver.

I pay by card regardless of how small the transaction.

The only change I have in the car is for parking, which I rarely need, as I use the tube to get to work and generally only drive to retail parks etc where parking is free. I doubt I use more than £10 in cash in the average month.

I paid for half life 2 in about 25 pounds and then change on release date. Nowadays its all plastic though.

I bought an arc welder from Aldi once, with I think around £35 in pound coins :o

With hindsight, next time I'll tape up the coins into £1 or £10 blocks.

I'd pay any amount in loose change as long as the shop accepted it (they're under no obligation to do so) and I had that much loose change. If I had £1000 in loose change and the shop was willing to accept it, I'd be fine with that. Why would it be a problem?

In practice, I rarely have more than a few pounds in loose change on me. As a general rule, I carry a £5 or £10 note in my wallet and a few assorted coins (20p-£1) in my pocket. I've got some big old-style sweet jars for any smaller coins I happen to get. Direct debits for regular payments and a debit card for anything over ~£10, so I've no need to carry more cash than that. Who does nowadays?

You're a PITA to everyone else :p

I don't mind people who pay by cash, I just loathe the ones who can't have their cash sorted before paying or need to put it all back, slowly, into their wallets instead of sticking it in their pockets for sortation outside the shop.

All change goes in a jar.

But once paid for a round of pizzas with 1p's,2p's and a few 5p's. Totaling nearly £50 poor guy was in his car for an hour counting.

In pound coins, it can range from £5 - 10, however, if just coppers/silvers, I only ever really carry £5.

Random fact, 1ps and 2ps can only be used to pay for something 20p or under, 5ps and 10ps can only be used for £5 or under, 20s and 50s for £10 or under. Not that anywhere would enforce that.
