So yea i think i know what the answer will be but im fed up googling and staring at 25 billion firefox tabs.

Basically i was set up to buy an I5 2500k cheap and a z68 mobo. Fell through but now i have a buyer for my current CPU + MOBO so i dont want to let him down.

I was going to sell my cpu+mobo for 100 quid (955 BE OC @ 4.1ghz + M5A97) And spend another 100 Quid and get a working non overclocked I5 2500k And a Z68 board. Deal!... or so i thought. Been let down with the seller so here i am in search of a new gadgets.

Im looking to spend £150 and no more Edit : yes yes i cant math £250 quid

I was thinking:

I5 3750k: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-404-IN

Asus P8Z77: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-555-AS

OR

Gigabyte Z68AP : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-364-GI

Diffrence between the two is obviously brand (prefer ASUS) But also Chip set. Which is better?

Also If i want to be a little naughty and start new years with a bad deed then i can just say to my buyer the deals off. And just slot a new AM3+ Chip into my existing setup. But what would you guys recommend?

Purely for gaming and browsing

Win 7 64bit
8 gig ddr3 g.skill ripjaws x
6850 1 gig OC'd
700w corsair gamers series
955 BE OC to 4.1ghz
Asus M5A97 Board
Antec 1200 Twelve Hundred Gaming Case

TL;DR Gonna buy i5 cheap fell through, guy lined up to buy my cpu + mobo, Looking for replacment. Thx :)

Yea my bad there , But nice to see keen eyes! Selling my cpu + board 100 + 150 So really i have 250 to spend Doh!

The Asus P8Z77 is voltage locked, meaning you'll only get a 4-4.2Ghz overlock on it (if your lucky). The D3H, is not voltaged lock so you could get upto 4.5Ghz.

Obviously for any overclocking you'll need an aftermarket cooler. :)

Yea i got a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro With the diffrent the diffrent clamps for amd and intel so will carry on using that. Of course forgot to check for voltage locked. And yes i plan on overclocking :)

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz
Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
Subtotal £259.98

Are we all happy with that combo ? :)

People say funny things ;) Couple that with Stulid managing to convince everyone that the D3H is the only Z77 option at this price point and it's easy for mis-info to get around :)

I'd say the UK RMA thing is the best reason to go with the Gigabyte imo. Either that, or brown vs blue PCB :D

So What board then? Stick with the gigabyte?

What about a 8350 and buy another 6850 to crossfire?

The Gigabyte board he a few advantages, the warranty, quality of board and also features like Dual BIOS (have had to use that before).

Yes the gigabyte board is fine.

The P8Z77 voltage locked? I doubt, maybe the micro version. AFAIK, the MSI G43, and the Z77-DS3H are the only Z77 boards that are voltage locked.

The Freezer Pro 7... meh :) But sure, it will do. You can always get a better cooler later.

£150 for a 3570K investment. not bad :)

Ok so order placed for the CPU Still browsing mobo. Sabretooth looks good... Also a nice 7950 to go with it . Guess i'll buy parts weekly and just buy the board last to stop me from doing a half assed upgrade. Watercooling? Go on then :P
