At Google HQ and all their offices around the world, it makes you wonder how any work gets done once you've watched this. More like a holiday park! Absolutely amazing workplace. Tons of food, 18 cafes, free electric cars to take whenever you want, laundry done for you, video games, fully equipped gyms with free personal trainers, more food, the list goes on. This is what you get working for a multi-billion dollar company. Towards the end they show other offices around the world, with helter skelters and fireman poles if you want to get to your food quicker.

They do it as they expect you to basically either work or sleep...having a life outside of Google is a no-go. They even allow you to bring your dog to work so your animal doesn't get lonely.

It's a coders heaven, you get everything handed to you on a plate, but they don't expect you to leave much. They even have rooms you can go and sleep in.

No thanks for me :)

wow could it be any more hackneyed? I thought this type of bull honkey played out after the dotcom bust.

A happy workforce is an efficient workforce.

In big fat companies like google, a workers ethos is paramount to success, just look at practically every Japanese company.

Apple's Chinese workforce seems to be pretty efficient, and they're all on suicide watch!

Yeah, their answer was to build circus nets around the complex so you couldn't jump. Personally I think a helter skelter would have sorted the issue.

Apple doesnt have much of a Chinese workforce do they? and if your talking about Foxconn, they supply many other companys, but better not let that get in the way of a dig at apple ;)

Looks cool, but it comes at a great personal cost i bet, you're probably expected to work 50+ hours a week, or more.

Id love to have a week there. Although i bet the novelty would wear off. Id like to see the in-work relationship stats too here ;)

Exactly how I feel :).

I know exactly where my work/home life boundaries are, and I don't want my employer actively pushing to blur them.

A mate of mine starts there next week (London office). I'm interested to get his take on what it's really like. I'll feedback anything interesting.

The interview process sounded quite different, it was pretty long from what he said - about 6 or 7 interviews. Also I think it really helps if you know someone who already works there who can vouch for you.
