After a tablet now. Wife uses ipad2 but not sure if i want an ipad. Any suggestions as to an alternative?

Be nice to be able to use one as a Kindle, print from, maybe store some pics, obviously internet and email and some word processing. 10" would be min size. Budget, not sure as dont know what is available. Ta

Is the Galaxy 10" a good one to go for? Can i do all that i have said in my original post?

Android tablets can do everything that an iPad can do (and potentially more), so don't worry about that. I would look at the Nexus 10, or the Microsoft Surface.

+1 for Galaxy Note 10.1.

I've had one myself now for a few months and love it, best tablet I've owned and the closest thing I have seen performance and looks wise to an iPad at a snip of the price.

But is 16gig enough?

Don't forget that the Note 10.1 has a micro SD slot that will take a card up to 64gb.

You'd be out a fortune paying for a 64gb iPad!

Not what you would want but I recently bought a Galaxy tab 2 10.1 for £200 brand new. It is not too far behind my Ipad 2 except on the most intensive of websites. It is completely stable and runs Netflix, films from the SD card smoothly with no problems. The downside is it does not have an compatible HDMI cable available at the moment/

If I wanted to spend an extra for an Android tablet I would go for the Galaxy note 10.1 as you get the better performance etc. Appart from the Malware risk there is not much now between the latest Ipad and the Latest Android tabs.
