Dynamo: magician impossible

the gf showed me one of hiw shows on TV, some of them are blindingly obvious as to how pre-planned and setup they were.

No actual proof. It's all just "obviously" staged with stooges because you can't work out how he did it otherwise.

Hmmmm

Accidentally watched half an episode on tv over christmas, was painfully bad. Tricks weren't remotely impressive and he just has a complete lack of any personality.

I want to know how they do the card through the other side of the glass trick. Always amazes me and my firned whose a magician did it in my local pub one night and he doesn;t live here and had travelled 200 miles to visit so how the hell did he stage that?

The 'phone into bottle' trick linked above is a pretty good example of why I think some people aren't that impressed with him, myself included. Pulling off that sort of trick just isn't possible without a load of assistance and props (unless you believe he can actually push things through glass), and when you have the assistance and the props, you don't need a huge amount of skill to pull off the trick.

His big "event" type tricks are ridiculous, I'd bet they use fewer props in Hollywood. No idea why he's so popular.

Only watched one of his shows. He was in a store opening with Rio Ferdinand and other "VIP's" where he claimed he could walk through the glass store front.

He then lined up several guests infront of the window. Unfortunately they didn't block him totally from view and you could watch him crawl on all fours behind them, out of the shop door and pop up outside on the other side of the window.

Or it's apparent even to the mildly educated that the events are staged.

Obviously he isn't actually capable of performing real magic so yes the events are "staged".

But I can't believe that he achieves most of his magic by using plants. If that was the case then as I said before what's the point? Anyone can do that.

I think it's a case of you can't work out how he did it so you default to accusing him of using stooges.

Watched one the other day, he was going through an HMV trying to get away from fans, then his clothes just fall to the floor and he's disapeared, after a trick edit of the camera to a set up the trick of course.

Well I always assumed the glass bottle had a false bottom.

There's this guy I know of who's pretty damn good. Think it's Steven Levitt or something like that....

Yeah I heard he is awesome too!

And watching Fool Us by Penn and Teller is much better, some of my friends have performed in front of them (darn them!) and they practice so much it is unreal. I prefer magicians who take time and effort to perform and perfect the performance. :)

Check out my friend Mark:

I find him rather entertaining. :)

And Michael!
