New PC no POST beep :(!

Hi,

I've just built my system as speced in my last tread.

Turned it on for the first time and I'm getting no POST beep and nothing on the monitor. The fans all come on and LEDs light up.

whats your spec?

2 sets of ram?

if yes take one out and re try.

if no, then re check all cables, re seat cpu and fan, so almost a rebuild to double check all stuff etc

I removed the ram and the GFX card and get no bleep again, just a red LED on the 'DRAM_LED'

Have you tried all the DDR slots?

No I haven't, but surely it would beep if there was NO ram?

unplug all from board leave on vga onboard if you have it, card if not.

1 stick of ram.

no cd/dvd or ide or sdd device

nothing in front Panel Connectors etc

only plug in power and 8-pin ATX 12 V Power Connector

and make sure only cpu fan is pluged in and retry

power on by touching a flat headed screw driver to the 2 pins marked Power Switch Connector on m/b will be in the manual which ones

Only thing plugged in is:

The big 24pin connect (atx?)
The 8pin 12v atx connector and the little 4 pin CPU fan.

Nothing

Reseated the CPU and fan as well and they were fine

is the cpu fan or heat sink loose?

under tight or over tight can cause problems etc

Nope CPU heat sink is fine I've double check it.

Can you try the graphics card in a different machine? I have had this exact problem before and it turned out to be a faulty graphics card. Also have you remembered to connect all of the supplementary PCI-e power supplys to the graphics card and the 6 / 8 pin cpu power?

It it doesn't POST/BEEP with the GFX card out of the machine then how could it be the card?

I don't have another machine to test parts on

Ok I've managed to get to the BIOS screen but the mobo doesn't 'beep'??

Your MOBO will only beep if you have attached the MOBO speaker.

No speaker, no beep.
