Where I am contracting, I have a slight issue with someone that is constantly trying to score points on me for whatever reason.

Today I have been maxed out on a problem and skipped lunch to get the problem sorted out for the team.

During an email banter between the team someone mentioned, during a completely separate subject, something about scratching their butt and I replied that it was lucky I was skipping lunch due to the nature of the thought process it gave me.

This particular person pipes up with "and Cig breaks too?" (yes i am a smoker). I guess a dig at me popping out for a fag.

Our boss comes back with

Ouch that’s nasty xxxxx (insert name)

Karma is now required, your just a host rather than a person. You will learn this….


I have no idea what he means by this, was it a telling off to this person as it is known to him that this person is being a royal pain to me who is trying to help as much as possible including skipping lunch.

yeah i know that and I ignore them. My boss has become aware of how much of a pain they are becoming with their behaviour and hence me wondering what his reply was about.

I think it was a public put down to the person, but I am not sure. Never heard this phrase before.
 
I think he was telling the guy that what he said was not nice and that it will come back to hurt him in the future, not sure what he meant about the host, sound like he is on about some sort of matrix (indian) like philosophy.

It sounds like they are joking though. I find that skipping lunch is never appreciated, especially when contracting, not like they are going to remember that the next time you are 10 mins late coming back from lunch cause you were stuck in line at the bank or something.
