Seriously Considering getting one of these, been reading (quite recent -2012) reviews about it that compare it, extraordinary to the Noctua D14.

Anyone got one of these that can vouch for it? Or bad experiences with one. Preferable if it's a 1155 socket CPU as all the 'user review' i can find are 1136/775.

Just so you know i have 2 fan to put on it (Sp120's, currently on my H50)

Thanks :)

Mine keeps the 3770K temp in check, although I have not used any other cooler on this CPU so cannot really compare. The performance is close to the Noctua but without the size and the potential problems it causes and that's why I went for the Megahalems in the end. Very high quality finish and it even works with my CPU IHS removed :p

The actual installation is easy enough, but because it comes with so many screws and brackets for different sockets it can be a bit daunting trying the find right ones. Just take a bit of time to study it and you'll be fine.

Currently I just have 2 scythe fans that I have lying around and the temp is around 70C with my OC when running F@H so I'm happy.

Thats great..

70C at 4.7, that's pretty amazing.

I'm very tempted, there quite a rare cooler too (from what i have read) so im close to pull the trigger..

Anyone else used this 'bad-boy'?

was looking at it as it has great reviews here but in the end this was in my bundle Zero Infinity Phantom Knight CPU Cooler.

also a great cooler. just as large and just as good, lower cooling than the Prolimatech and seems to be used more here for it, seems the most bundled cooler now days and for good reasons.

same price, so either would be a great choice

Thanks Mate,

I did look at the Phantom, I don't really like the styling though. I know it's sad, Not too keen on the base plate either..

Was quite temped by the Infinity Free Flow but that's push my budget a bit higher than i would like.. and it may not fit in my case (though fan clips look wild)

Anyone else using this?

Is the Megahalems Black a Rev C? :)

Sorry to take your thread off track but I am curious to know why you got rid of the v351?
So you changed to a TJ08-E? What do you think of it so far.

I love it mate.

Its not much bigger than the v351. It can take bigger GPU's, more harddrives. Has awesome cable management and can actually fit a full sized CPU cooler in, which im most happy about.

It the best mAtx case out there, so happy I got one.

I have this cooler and I'm currently running my system at 4.8 and the hottest its hit in prime so far is 85, which is about the max I want to go really.... But 4.8 at those temps its quite good for air I belive. Unfortunately I've never had another cooler to compare it too.

Had the supermega version. A lovely made peice of kit. But the temps on my old i7 920 at 4.2ghz hit the high 70's. Switched it out for a k2, got a drop down to 69c max. And with a lot less noise. The mega needs high speed high cfm fans to get the best from it, the trade off with that is noise compared to the big dual tower coolers.

For 4.8 80C isn't to bad. Can you remember what you got (temp wise) at 4.5-4.6.

What is the difference between the super mega and the rev c? Is it just those orange fins?

When I was looking for a new cooler, I looked at both the Megahalems and the Thermalright HR-02 Macho. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-082-TR
From what I read the Macho was supposed to be slightly quieter which was paramount for me and with very good cooloing capabilities.
In the end, case restrictions meant I went for The Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure Edition, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-037-AL&groupid=701&catid=2330&subcat=2337 and Im very happy.
Im running an i5 2500k 4.5GHz with temps of 54/61/58/59 under load running Prime. I also used the Gelid Solutions GC-Extreme pate. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=TH-000-GD&groupid=701&catid=27&subcat=

What sort of temps are you getting on your H50? I had a Supermega with x2 Akasa Vipers cooling a q6600 @3.6Ghz 1.5v maxing out in the low 70s.

Is your current cooler not giving you good temps?

Not really, im getting high 70's at 4.5Ghz and im pretty sure i can do better.

I'm not a fan of liquid coolers anyway, would rather have an air cooler.

I got the H50 to fit in my smaller case but now i have a big case i can move on to air cooling.

Good cooler this.

I used it with one fan when binning Ivy CPU. It worked well.

Praise indeed.
