Far Cry 3 Thread

Played through this game twice now, first time I did not read the help and did not really get into collecting plants...Did the full mission with 2 health slots and 2 weapons on normal :D (thought it was near impossible at times)

Second time, now realising you have to click your unlocked earned skills, it's a breeze :D
Excellent Game, especially the Health system and radio towers idea.
The only way they could really improve it for me would be for more destructibility on things and add like the original Crysis physics where bullets actually moved the grass blades etc.

Anyone know how you get this free sp mission "Testing Unit" from Uplay ?

I just clicked on it inside UPlay, where you unlock the wallpaper and other stuff - assuming you have enough Uplay points or whatever they're called (and assuming Uplay is working :))

The free wallpaper was the only thing that worked ! :D

Uplay really is a work of art, It has not even saved old games so I suspect it's that, like you say :D

Found it.... It adds a little cross on the map, I didn't think I was that dense but all the games I've ever played missions are started from the main menu, silly me

Has anyone tried the' Enemy retake the Island' mod that repopulates all the radio towers & outposts with pirates so you can replay the game without restarting from the beginning but get to keep all the weapons & skills you already have available ? Seems it works fine according to the replies

Set it to custom and set everything as high as you can and then use the above mod to get rid of the Depth of Field effect.

I loved Far Cry 2, where's the love for this game? :(

It was marred by the insane-angry multi respawning bad guys and broken guns but some of it was great fun. It really felt quite like Africa and the scenery was lovely. Also, it didn't have the embarrassingly bad cartoon pictures over enemy heads that ruin the view in Far Cry 3.

I can understand tweaking the tone of some games, not that I have ever wanted to. But sharpening + hires updates always look so headache inducingly bad to me. Why would you want to play like that? Some screenshots look better with it though.

I've always thought this. Nearly every HD texture pack out there makes games looks worse. I remember back when people were modding Oblivion they were using the most horribly jarring texture packs that took away all consistency and just looked odd. Each to their own tho ;)
