iPad Mini...

There's all kind of rumours out there. Some news sites are saying March for a refresh, others September. I, personally, am holding out til March to see.

Is their any known faults with it?

How is it compared to things like the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10?

It's just quite an expensive product and I'm wondering if all in all it'll be worth it... I don't like faults with products and the Nexus 7 had loads!

So far been flawless, I prefer browsing on it compared to droid, mate has ipad mini and nexus 7 and he prefers the ipad.

There are rumours of an iPad refresh in march, and for hte mini but who knows, but then with Apple potentially going to a 6 month release schedule there will never be a best time to buy so to speak.

If they do update in march it will most likely be speed bump and some more RAM, I do not think we will have a retina in it till end of this year start of next, as to fit one into the mini will have to make it bigger etc.

Thanks... I'm still unsure on what to do. Is their a MUCH better tablet for this price point?

The only thing swaying me towards the mini is the fact that I've always used Android products and never used Apple ones much.

I really don't see what Apple stand to gain by releasing one in just over a month.

They can barely keep up with demand for the iPad mini at the moment as it is, and it hasn't really been out very long at all. I think it'll be closer to a yearly release cycle. Even in 2/3 months they'll still be selling them like hotcakes, there's no need for an upgrade yet, it's not like the screen is poor or anything.

You obviously can't rule it out, but it would abandon logic.

After too much prattling about over this, I sold my iPad 3 and ordered one.
Since its arrival, I haven't put it down and now goes everywhere with me, unlike the full size one.
So far, very impressed and tbh don't really miss the retina screen.

Yes without a doubt you can, I have my ipad mini on its stand now about 18 inches from me and I am able to read the OCUK forum without a problem

Thank you, I've been wracking my brain over choosing a mini or 4th gen all week, it really seems to be form factor vs specs, been playing around with my brothers ipad 2 and it definitely seems to get a little weighty in the hand after a while which lead me to thinking about a mini but was little worried about the res.

Took this photo on the iphone from about 18" just now, so please take into account bad light, the iPhone camera not as good as the human eye etc

The res is not an issue in the slightest. People seem to forget that at 1024x768 it is a similar resolution to a lot of laptops (my 13" is 1280x800) and they have easily usable resolutions.

IMO you have to stick your nose less than 6 inches from the screen to start to notice any pixels and who would do this but someone half blind who wouldnt benefit from a bigger resolution anyway.

Whilst yes it being a higher resolution would obviously be nice it should not be a deciding factor.

Oh and have to agree the normal iPad feels unnaturally heavy in comparison to the Mini.
