Tyre company rip off!!

To the OP, as there seems to be a relentless argument over nothingness going on in the majority of this thread, I think you need to name and shame these tyre fitters. I have been through the entire thread and cannot see any mention of who these cowboys are. The least service you can do to all the rest of us is to name them, so that some other innocent person does not get conned by them.

Hope you get it sorted. Call them, speak to the CEO if you have to (thats what I did in the end - see my other thread about F1 autocentres) and get your money back!

I will only name them when the complaint process has come to the end.

In that case perhaps you shouldn't have posted your story in the first place here. The only way the company will listen to anything you have to say is when you start to take away their business.

Get your arse back to the garage and return them if they're not as described. Don't let them win or they'll continue to do this to other people

Well the complaint process with the company that supplied the tyres has hasn't it?

Not entirely, the Michelin account manager is taking up the dispute about they way they are marketing this brand of tyres. I might sound a bit selfish, but I would like them to have their say first. Promise I will not leave the thread un- finished. If anyone is concerned about a mobile tyre outfit I will be pleased to let them know or not in confidence if this is the same one.

Feel free to mail me.

Another thread has reminded me I never finished this. It was Event tyres, they just stopped responding to me so I gave up. The tyres wore out so quickly I was thankfully rid of them quickly.

The emails I received from the management were horrendous. I stick with Tyreshopper now who uses National tyres to fit. They check the brand and size and call you before you go in.

Definitely be giving event tyres a mis when i need to renew then. Shocking the service you received.

On another note i was very skeptical about the new EU labelling rules for tyres, and they appear, for now, to be working.

If you compare the kormoran things to the michelins you can see they have worse fuel efficieny and grip ratings.

Did you ever name the culrpits, I had a similar situation wirh etyres selling very low end tyres as "mid range"

Sorry to hear that you were conned by EVENT TYRES. As per the other thread they seem to be quite happy making fools out of customers.

Hope your operation goes well and wish you a speedy recovery.

I can't believe you let this go... they fitted **** tyres to your car... the car your wife drives... and you just let them get away with it?

So you got conned by Event Tyres, as well as another user of this forum. Niiice. I will definately give them a miss if they have this many problems conning people and not taking a complaint seriously.

Yeah, I that would be me :/ I didn't part with any money though so that's something. Sounds very much like these boys are a bit dodge.

To provide a bit of balance, I used them for tyres for my Forester and they provided the exact tyres I ordered and for £20 less per tyre than anyone else.

Mind you I made sure I ordered specifically what I needed on the web site and didn't leave it to my wife to try and do it over the phone, plus I made sure I was there when they came to fit it.
