Hey.
On my motherboard http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2011/05/msi-p67a-gd53-b3-review/GD53-l-8.jpg
It only has one USB header, which is for the front panel USB.

I'm after some thing like a internal USB splitter or something to be able to plug my front USB + the corsair link cable from my h80i into (currently using the bios to control the fan speed)
Or someway to add an extra internal USB header.

Is there such a thing? o_o

Basically, I want to plug two of these (http://supcontent.gateway.com/support.gateway.com/s/Cases/shared/8010826R/8010826R_USB.JPG) into 1 USB header,
or be able to add an extra one somehow.

The first thing I came across was this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-043-AK&groupid=1929&catid=543&subcat=
Which at first glance looked like it could convert a USB port into a USB header.
After looking on the website, I came across this which shows what it does.
http://www.akasa.com.tw/update.php?...e=Cables&type_sub=USB Cables&model=EXUSBIE-40

It looks like it does what I want it to do, add another header, even though its only USB 1.1 I think, it should work with the corsair link cable shouldn't it?
Or am I being completely stupid here and thats not what it does at all?

Might chance the cable, its only £2.59.
On a competitor site review someone said "an excellent product that is useful if you have insufficient headers on your motherboard to connect all your front pannel USB connectors. Have found it 100% reliable so far."
So it seems like it will work as a normal header on a MB.
Can anyone confirm if the 4 pins in the cable will work with a corsair link cable from a h80i? I can't find anywhere to say its backwards compatible.

i dont know for certain but what you could do if it doesnt is switch the front panel with the h80i so the h80i is in the mobo in the header socket and the front panel going through the back

Wont the front panel USB 2 not run at USB 2 though then since the 4 pin connector on the cable is usb 1.1 (I think...)

The USB input to the h80i appears to be a standard mini USB port.

If it is the neatest option would be a mini USB to standard USB cable. It would connect directly between the motherboard rear panel and the h80i.

You may even have the correct cable kicking around from an old phone or something.

Omg would that even work? yes the connector is just a mini-usb with the MB header on the other end.
Yes I have some of them, like 5 of them :P No idea where from lol.

It should. If you plug that Akasa cable into the Corsair supplied cable then you've just created an ugly version of the same thing.

Please appreciate I'm just looking at pictures and haven't tried this for myself.

I'm gona try it right now...won't exactly look very pretty, because I have to route the cable out a watercooling hole in the back, but it will do.
If my h80i blows up I blame you OK ? :D

OMG it works!
You are genius /bow down
Thanks! :P

Now you have to answer to the OCUK staff because you have denied them money! :P
